# How to upload and manage files

**The Assets manager is where you will store all of your assets like images, videos or gifs as well as find other stock assets as well as manage them using folders.**

## How to upload files

In the first section of the Assets manager you can upload your personal assets such as images, videos or custom files. 

To upload your private files, click on the “+ button” or drag the files to the “Drop files here” area.

To preview your image assets you can hover them in the Uploads section and they will be previewed full size.

In the the Uploads you can also find:

* [Private folder](/en/article/private-folder-and-files-19sfmd2/) - where you can add various configuration files or script files that are essential for your project's development.
* **Side panel** - each folder has a side panel button used to expand the assets manager to make drag and drop navigation easier

## Creating folders

Go to the the **Left panel -> Assets manager -> Uploads**.

To create and name a new folder click on the ""+ button" then "Create folder" . Within this new folder you can create one or several other folders.

## Moving assets into folders

To move files into folders:

* Click on the "Open side panel" button
* Select the files or folders you want to move
* Drag them to the folder of choice

## Renaming and deleting folders

To rename or delete one of your folders you will need to click on the **⋮ icon** on the folder and choose the action you want to take. 

||| Deleting a folder will also delete all of the files within that folder at the same time.
