How to turn off the page transition for one page or folder

In TeleportHQ, your page transition plays on every page of your site, but you can make one page, or every page in a folder, appear instantly instead. Right-click the page in the Pages list and switch on Skip page transition. Use it for pages that should feel immediate, such as a checkout or an account screen. Leaving that page still plays the transition.

Before you start

Skip the transition for one page

  1. In the left sidebar, click the layers icon (tooltip Pages, Components & Tree View).
  2. In the Pages list, right-click the page, for example Terms & Conditions. You can also click the three dots at the end of its row.
  3. Near the bottom of the menu, click Skip page transition to switch it on. The menu stays open, so you can see the switch turn on.
  4. Click an empty grey area of the canvas to close the menu.
The page menu open in the TeleportHQ Pages list with the Skip page transition switch highlighted

To play the transition on that page again, open the same menu and switch Skip page transition off.

Skip the transition for a whole folder

  1. In the Pages list, right-click a folder you made, for example account.
  2. Click Skip page transitions to switch it on.

Every page inside the folder, now and later, appears instantly. Each of those pages shows Skipped by folder account in its menu, with the switch on and greyed out. To let one of them play the transition again, move it out of the folder or switch the folder off. See How to organize pages and components in folders.

The top Pages folder has no switch. To turn the transition off on every page, choose None in Page transitions instead.

What visitors see

When a TeleportHQ page skips the page transition:

  • Opening it from another page of your site changes the page instantly, with no transition.
  • Leaving it for another page plays your site's transition as usual, because that other page doesn't skip it.
  • No picture flies into it. See How to make a picture fly to the next page.

This works the same in Preview and on your published site. The editor's canvas never plays page transitions, so nothing changes there.

Check that it worked

Open the page's menu again: Skip page transition is on. Then click Preview in the bottom toolbar and click a link to that page: it appears at once. Your live site follows the next time you publish.

Good to know

  • Admin screens skip by default. In a web app, the pages in the admin-panel folder appear instantly unless you switch that folder's Skip page transitions off.
  • Reduced motion: visitors who turned on "reduce motion" on their device get every page instantly, skipped or not. See What do visitors who turn on reduced motion see?
  • The AI Assistant can do it for pages. Ask, for example, "No page transition on the Checkout page."

How to design your own page transition

In TeleportHQ, open Project settings → Page transitions, click the Design your own card at the bottom of the list, pick a starting point in Start from, then set Duration (s), Easing, and how the new page arrives and the old page leaves; the card shows the result as you change the values.

How to make a picture fly to the next page

In TeleportHQ, when a picture inside a link opens a page that shows the same picture, the picture flies into its place on the next page while the page transition plays; it's on by default, under Project settings → Page transitions → Pictures → Fly to the next page.

What do visitors who turn on reduced motion see?

TeleportHQ sites respect the "reduce motion" setting of a visitor's device automatically; Motion animations show the content in place without moving, rows that slide by themselves stand still and can be swiped, page transitions become instant, and each Scroll Scene and Scroll Video shows what you choose in its Reduced motion setting.
