What is the admin panel?
The TeleportHQ admin panel is a back office for your web app. TeleportHQ builds it for you, and it lives on your published site at /admin/dashboard. People with the admin role sign in there to add, edit and delete your site's data (users, products, orders, bookings, blog posts and comments, files and your own database tables), to see every email the site sent, and to build new pages from blocks, without opening the TeleportHQ editor.
When to use the TeleportHQ admin panel
Use the admin panel when someone needs to manage content on your live site. For example:
- A shop owner adds a new product and marks an order as shipped from a phone.
- A restaurant's staff edits the menu stored in a database table.
- A marketing colleague publishes a new landing page from ready-made blocks.
The editor is where you design the site. The admin panel is where your team runs it.
What's inside the admin panel
TeleportHQ fills the admin panel with the features your project uses. Its sidebar groups them into sections:
- MAIN: the Dashboard, with overview charts and the latest records.
- MANAGEMENT: Users (your site's member accounts), Invoices (the invoices of your store and your bookings), Assets (a file manager) and Sent Emails.
- CONTENT: Blog Posts (with a blog), Blog Comments (when your blog takes comments) and Pages, which your team builds from blocks.
- COMMERCE (with an online store), in groups:
- Catalog: Products and Product Reviews. A product's variants and options are edited on the product itself.
- Orders: Orders, Shipments, Subscriptions and Abandoned Carts.
- Promotions: Vouchers, Discounts and Gift Cards.
- Shipping & Tax: Shipping Zones, Shipping Rates and Tax Rates.
- Withdrawal Requests and Activity Log.
- BOOKINGS (on a site that takes bookings): Bookings, Calendar, Bookable items, Opening hours, Closed dates and Booking settings. The Bookings list has a Show bookings picker (for example Upcoming or Waiting for your answer), and its New booking page lets your team book for a customer.
- AI (with the AI chatbot): Chat Messages and Knowledge Sources.
- CUSTOM, or a section you name: any database table you add yourself.
Each item has a list with search, sorting and bulk actions, plus pages to create and edit records. Some are lists only, with no create page, because their records come from the site or from other features: Sent Emails, Gift Cards, Subscriptions, Abandoned Carts, Activity Log, Chat Messages and Knowledge Sources.
Sent Emails: every email your site sent
The Sent Emails list in the TeleportHQ admin panel shows each email your site sent: when, which kind of email, to whom (a customer, the store owner or someone else), the subject, whether it was Sent or Failed, and through which email provider. Open one to see the message as it was delivered, its attachments, the order it belongs to and, for a failed email, the error. Use it to check whether a customer really got their order confirmation.
Needs your attention
The TeleportHQ admin panel tells you what is waiting for you. When your site has a store, blog comments or bookings, the header of every admin page has a What needs your attention button. It opens a list titled Needs your attention, with a count and a link for each queue your site has:
- Orders To Ship: confirmed or paid, and waiting for a parcel.
- Pending Reviews: product reviews to accept or reject before they go live.
- Pending Comments: blog comments to approve or reject before they appear on your blog.
- Pending Withdrawal Requests: return requests to approve or reject.
- Bookings To Answer: booking requests to accept or decline, and bookings paid after their time was taken, to cancel and refund.
- Items To Prepare: bookable items with a job to do after a booking ended (for example, cleaning a room). Open the item, do the job, then click Mark ready.
The same counts show as badges next to those items in the sidebar, and as a line under the title of the list where the work is done. When nothing is waiting, the list says "You're all caught up". The counts are read when an admin page loads: refresh the page to update them.
What the TeleportHQ admin panel needs
- A web app. The admin panel is a web app feature. See What is a web app in TeleportHQ?.
- Authentication. Turn on sign-up and login first. See How to add sign-up and login to your site.
- A user with the
adminrole. Every admin page is protected: only signed-in users with a role the admin panel lets in can open it. That'sadmin, unless you change the Role Protection of theadmin-panelfolder in the Pages list. See How to make a page visible only to signed-in users. - A published site. The admin panel works on your live site, not in the editor's preview.
Projects you create with the E-commerce card get an admin panel automatically, and so do AI-built web apps that sell products. Turning on Bookings turns the admin panel on too. Anywhere else, turn it on yourself.
Turning the TeleportHQ admin panel on and off
You turn the TeleportHQ admin panel on and off in the editor's left sidebar: click Plugins, then the Admin panel row, and use the Admin panel enabled switch in its drawer. The row shows On or Off. Turning it off deletes the admin-panel folder and every page in it, including changes you made to those pages. The data it managed stays in your database. See How to turn on the admin panel.

Good to know
- Admin pages are editable in the editor. They're in the
admin-panelfolder of the Pages list, with a folder for each kind of data. Some later changes rebuild them, and TeleportHQ asks first: adding a language to a project with a store or a blog opens Update Admin Panel Pages, and a feature that changes the dashboard opens Dashboard will be regenerated if you edited it. - Older admin panels show an Update button on the
admin-panelfolder. It switches them to the current product screen, where variants and options are edited on each product. See How to turn on the admin panel. - Deleting the database the admin panel uses, or its feature tables, also turns the admin panel off. TeleportHQ lists what is affected before you confirm.
