Which browsers and devices does TeleportHQ work on?

TeleportHQ runs in a web browser on a computer, with nothing to install. It works best in Chromium-based browsers: Google Chrome, Microsoft Edge, Brave or Opera. The TeleportHQ editor needs a mouse or trackpad and a browser window at least 767 pixels wide, so you can't build or edit on a phone. The websites you publish with TeleportHQ work on every device, including phones.

What you need

RequirementDetails
DeviceA desktop or laptop computer.
PointerA mouse or trackpad. The editor doesn't work with touch alone.
BrowserA Chromium-based browser is recommended: Google Chrome, Microsoft Edge, Brave or Opera.
Window sizeAt least 767 pixels wide. The editor also needs at least 700 pixels of height.
Internet connectionRequired. TeleportHQ saves your work online as you edit.
InstallationNone. TeleportHQ is a web app: there's no desktop or mobile app to download.

Using TeleportHQ in other browsers

TeleportHQ is built for Chromium-based browsers. If you open the TeleportHQ dashboard or editor in another browser, such as Safari or Firefox, a message appears: "Your browser is not fully supported". It recommends a Chromium-based browser. You can click Continue anyway, but some parts of the editor may not work as expected.

Using TeleportHQ on a phone or tablet

The TeleportHQ editor is built for a mouse or trackpad. On a touch screen, dragging, resizing and hover menus don't work, so the editor tells you before you start:

  • On a phone, the editor shows "Editing needs a larger screen". Click Open preview to look at your pages, or Back to dashboard. You can't continue to the editor.
  • On a tablet without a mouse or trackpad, the editor shows "The editor needs a mouse or trackpad". Click Open preview, or Continue anyway to edit with touch. TeleportHQ doesn't ask again until you close that browser tab.

A tablet with a mouse or trackpad connected, such as an iPad with a trackpad keyboard, counts as a computer, so the editor opens normally. The window size rules below still apply.

The sign-in, sign-up and account pages don't show these messages, so you can create an account or sign in from a phone.

Using TeleportHQ in a small window

The TeleportHQ editor needs space to show the canvas and its panels. When your browser window is narrower than 767 pixels, the dashboard and editor show this message:

"Your browser window is too narrow. Building capabilities are disabled."

In the editor, if the window is also shorter than 700 pixels, the message says "too small" instead, and if it's only too short, it says "too short". You can click Continue anyway to close the message, but editing doesn't work properly at that size. Make the browser window bigger, or switch to a computer.

If you open a project on a screen narrower than 767 pixels, TeleportHQ opens the project in preview mode instead of the editor, so you can look at it but not change it.

If you lose your internet connection

When the TeleportHQ editor loses its connection for more than two seconds, a banner appears: "Connection lost. Reconnecting automatically… Your edits are paused until it is back." If your computer is offline, it says "You're offline. Editing resumes when your connection returns." The editor reconnects by itself, so there's nothing to click. When the banner goes away, you can keep editing.

If the banner says "The server rejected one of your edits, so it was not saved. Reload the editor to continue safely.", click Reload editor. See Why is the editor slow, or saying I'm offline?.

The websites you publish

These requirements are only for building in TeleportHQ. Sites you publish with TeleportHQ are regular websites that open in any modern browser, on phones, tablets and computers. To check how your site looks on smaller screens, use the screen size icons above the canvas, or open Preview and switch to Tablet view or Mobile view. See How to make your site look good on phones and tablets.

What is TeleportHQ?

TeleportHQ is a browser-based platform for building, publishing and growing websites, web apps, online stores and booking sites without writing code, using AI generation, a visual editor and a built-in AI Assistant.

A tour of the TeleportHQ editor

The TeleportHQ editor has a header with the Project Menu, Share, Code and Publish, a left sidebar of panels such as Elements, Pages, Plugins and Growth with the Project settings cog at the bottom, a canvas in the middle, a right panel that shows the Design Language or the selected element's styles, and a floating toolbar at the bottom with Preview, Backups and Support.

Why is the editor slow, or saying I'm offline?

When the TeleportHQ editor loses its live connection it shows "Connection lost. Reconnecting automatically… Your edits are paused until it is back." (or "You're offline…") and pauses editing until it reconnects by itself; other messages warn about a small window, an unsupported browser, a phone or touch screen, or too many people in the project, and reloading or using a Chromium-based browser fixes most cases.

How to preview your site before publishing

In the TeleportHQ editor, click Preview in the toolbar at the bottom of the screen to open a working copy of your whole site in a new tab, where you can click links, try interactions and switch between desktop, tablet and mobile views.

How to make your site look good on phones and tablets

TeleportHQ sites are designed on a large screen first, and you adjust how they look on smaller screens by switching the canvas to a breakpoint (Tablet, Mobile Landscape or Mobile) and changing styles there; smaller screens inherit everything you don't change.
