What is TeleportHQ?
TeleportHQ is a platform for building, publishing and growing websites, web apps, online stores and booking sites without writing code. It runs in your web browser. You describe your business and TeleportHQ's AI generates a complete multi-page site, which you then edit in a visual editor or by chatting with the built-in AI Assistant. You can publish to a free TeleportHQ web address or your own domain, and you can download a website's code on a paid plan.
Who TeleportHQ is for
TeleportHQ is made for people who need a working website without hiring a developer: small business owners, marketers, freelancers, designers and agencies. Developers use it too, because websites built in TeleportHQ can be exported as code. For example, a bakery owner can generate a site with a menu, an order form and a contact page, then change the photos and texts by hand.
What you can build with TeleportHQ
Every piece of work in TeleportHQ is a project. When you create a project, you choose what kind it is:
- Presentation Website: a site that presents your business, such as a portfolio, a landing page or a company site. You can download a website's code and host it anywhere.
- Web App: a site that does things, with user sign-in, workflows (automations), a blog, a help center, an admin panel and an AI chatbot for visitors.
- E-commerce: an online store with products, cart, checkout, customer accounts and an admin panel. A store is a type of web app.
- Bookings: a site where customers book rooms, appointments, tables, classes or rentals online, with a calendar for each item, booking emails, customer accounts and an admin panel. A booking site is a type of web app.
You can also start from a Blank project. The difference between a website and a web app affects code download and billing. See What's the difference between a website and a web app?.
How you build in TeleportHQ
TeleportHQ gives you several ways to start and edit a project:
- Generate with AI. The AI Website Builder asks about your business, your preferred look, colors and fonts, then plans and builds your pages. See What is the TeleportHQ AI Website Builder?.
- Start from a template or a Blank project. See How to create a new project.
- Import a design from Figma with the TeleportHQ Figma plugin, or paste HTML and CSS code.
- Edit visually. The TeleportHQ editor has a canvas where you drag in elements, ready-made sections and reusable components, and panels where you style them. See A tour of the TeleportHQ editor.
- Edit with the AI Assistant. Ask for changes in plain language, for example "make the header dark blue and add a testimonials section". See What can the TeleportHQ AI Assistant do?.
AI features use AI tokens, a credit balance shared by everyone in a workspace. See What are AI tokens?.
What's included in a TeleportHQ project
Beyond pages and design, a TeleportHQ project can include:
- Design tools: a Design Language panel for your site's colors and text styles, CSS classes, animations and responsive design for phones and tablets.
- Data: connections to databases, headless CMS platforms, REST APIs, Google Sheets and CSV files, plus a built-in TeleportHQ database. See What are data sources?.
- Forms that collect submissions and email you; you read the submissions in Growth → Forms. See How to create a form.
- Web app features: workflows, user accounts and login, an admin panel, an online store, online bookings, a blog, and a help center with articles and categories for your own customers. Apart from workflows, you switch these on from Plugins in the editor's left sidebar.
- Growth tools: SEO settings and audits, visitor analytics and a Marketing Studio for email and social media. See What's in the Growth tab?.
- Multiple languages, with automatic translation. See How to make your site available in several languages.
Publishing and exporting from TeleportHQ
When your site is ready, click Publish in the TeleportHQ editor to put it online. You get a free TeleportHQ web address (for example, sunny-bakery.teleporthq.app), and you can connect your own domain. Trial and paid workspaces also get a private staging address for testing changes before they go live. See How to publish your site.
On a paid plan, you can download a website's code as React, Next.js, Vue, Nuxt, Angular or HTML, or export it to GitHub. Web apps are published and hosted by TeleportHQ, and their code can't be downloaded. See Can I download my site's code?.
Working together in TeleportHQ
Projects live in workspaces. A workspace has one owner, a plan, and members with roles such as Admin, Designer, Editor and Viewer. Several people can edit the same project at the same time and leave comments. See What is a workspace?.
TeleportHQ plans
Every new TeleportHQ account starts with a free 7-day trial workspace. No credit card is needed. The trial includes almost every feature on 1 project. After the trial, you subscribe to Pro or Premium to keep your projects and sites online. Prices are on the TeleportHQ pricing page. See What's the difference between Trial, Pro and Premium?.
What you need to use TeleportHQ
TeleportHQ runs in a desktop web browser. Nothing needs to be installed. It works best in a Chromium-based browser such as Google Chrome or Microsoft Edge, in a window at least 767 pixels wide. Phones are too small for editing. See Which browsers and devices does TeleportHQ work on?.
