What is the TeleportHQ AI Website Builder?

The TeleportHQ AI Website Builder creates a complete website, online store, booking site or web app from a description of your business. You describe it, or let TeleportHQ read your current website or your documents, then choose a theme, how much animation you want, and your colors and fonts. The AI plans your pages and builds them in the TeleportHQ editor. Everything it makes stays fully editable, by hand or with AI.

What the AI Website Builder makes for you

When the TeleportHQ AI Website Builder finishes, your project has:

  • A design system: the colors, fonts, spacing and styles your whole site uses. Every page and section you generate later matches it.
  • A navigation bar, a footer and a logo, shared by all pages.
  • Pages with real layout and content, written for your business, with images.
  • Motion that matches your choice. With the Medium or High animation level, standout sections can play out as visitors scroll (a scroll story). With None or Low, pages stay still or move gently.
  • A plan for every page your site needs. The AI builds the most important pages first: 1 page on a trial, and up to 4 on Pro or Premium. The others wait in your Pages list with a Create button until you build them.
  • SEO basics: after the build, TeleportHQ adds page titles and descriptions, a monogram favicon (your initials) and a social sharing image when your token balance allows.

Four kinds of AI project

When you click + New Project on your TeleportHQ dashboard, the Create Project panel shows E-commerce, Web App, Bookings, Presentation Website and Blank project. Each of the first four opens its own panel with a Generate with AI card and the templates of that kind; a kind with no templates yet generates with AI straight away. You choose what the AI should build:

CardWhat you getGood to know
Presentation Website → Generate with AIA site that presents your business, for example a bakery, a portfolio or a law firm.Doesn't need a Web App slot. Its code can be downloaded on a paid plan (see Can I download my site's code?).
Web App → Generate with AIA full app with logins, a database, a blog, workflows and the AI Assistant. Its code can't be downloaded, and it needs a Web App slot to keep running after 7 days (see Why does my web app need a slot?).
E-commerce → Generate with AIA complete store: products, cart, checkout, customer accounts and an admin panel.A store is a web app, so the same rules apply.
Bookings → Generate with AIA site where customers book rooms, appointments, tables, classes or rentals online: its pages, bookable items and calendar.A booking site is a web app, so the same rules apply. The AI also switches on online bookings for it.

How it works, step by step

At the top of the TeleportHQ AI setup, a progress bar shows where you are: Business, Design preferences, Colors & fonts and Build. For a store, it reads Describe your store, Design preferences, Colors & fonts, Products and Build store. You can click a finished stage to go back to it.

The AI setup's progress bar with its four stages: Business, Design preferences, Colors & fonts and Build
  1. Describe your business. Type a description, start from one of the predefined descriptions, dictate it, or fill it from your current website or your documents. The step is called Business description for a website, Describe your store for a store and Describe your business for a booking site. While you type, TeleportHQ detects the language you write in and sets the language menu to it, so the site is built in that language; pick a language in the menu yourself to choose another.
  2. Choose design preferences. A light or dark theme (or both), how much animation, and the page layout. Stores choose the theme and the animation only.
  3. Pick colors and fonts from AI suggestions, or ask for your brand colors and fonts.
  4. Answer a few fast questions (web apps and stores), so the AI builds the right features. Websites skip this step.
  5. Choose your products (stores only): let the AI write a starter catalog, or upload your own.
  6. Watch the AI plan and build. The editor opens and your pages generate, several at a time. For a booking site, the AI sets up online bookings before it builds the pages. See What happens while AI builds your site (and if it fails).

A web app (not a store or a booking site) whose description reads like a specification, with its pages, steps and fields listed out, is built page for page as written.

If you typed your idea on the TeleportHQ website before signing up, TeleportHQ creates a website project after you sign in and uses your text as the business description.

What it costs

The TeleportHQ AI Website Builder uses AI tokens from your workspace. Bigger projects use more: a web app or store page uses far more tokens than a website page, and a web app or store needs at least 20,000 tokens to start. On a trial, the AI builds 1 page right away. On Pro or Premium it builds up to 4, or fewer if your balance is low. Planned pages cost nothing until you click Create. A page that fails to generate is charged for the AI work that already ran for it; one that fails before the AI starts working costs nothing. For your allowance and typical costs, see What are AI tokens, and how many do I get? and What uses AI tokens, and how much?.

What you can do after the build

Your AI-generated project is a normal TeleportHQ project. You can:

What the AI Website Builder doesn't do

  • You can't choose the AI model. TeleportHQ picks the model for each task.
  • You can't pick pages from a list before the build. The AI plans the pages, and it includes the pages your description or documents ask for. Add, delete or regenerate pages in the editor afterwards.
  • It doesn't copy another site's design. A website link copies your site's visible text and takes a screenshot of each page. The AI uses the screenshots only as inspiration; your old layout, images, files and code aren't copied. To bring in an existing design, see How to turn a Figma design into a website.
  • It can't switch a web app, store or booking site to a website. To get a website instead, create a new project with the Presentation Website card.
