How to offer in-store pickup

To offer in-store pickup in your TeleportHQ store, open E-Commerce Settings, switch on Store Pickup, click Manage Locations and add at least one location. After you publish, shoppers can choose Store Pickup at checkout, select one of your locations and skip the delivery fee.

Before you start

  • Your project needs an active store. See How to add a store to an existing project.
  • Have your shop's address, and optionally its phone number and opening hours, ready.
  • Store pickup is available on every plan.

Steps

1. Turn on Store Pickup

  1. In the left sidebar, click E-commerce (the card icon).
  2. At the top right of the E-Commerce panel, click the gear (E-Commerce Settings). The E-Commerce Setup panel opens.
  3. Switch on Store Pickup ("Allow customers to pick up orders from a store location."). A Manage Locations link appears next to its name.
  4. Click Manage Locations. The Store Locations panel opens beside it.

2. Add a location

  1. In the Store Locations panel, click Add Location. The first time, the panel says "No store locations".
  2. In Location Name, type a name shoppers will recognize, for example Main Store.
  3. Fill in Address, City and Country. These are required.
  4. Optional: fill in State / Province, ZIP / Postal Code, Phone, Email, Working Hours (for example Mon-Fri: 9am-6pm, Sat: 10am-4pm) and Notes (for example Use the side entrance).
  5. At the bottom of the form, click Add Location. The message "Main Store" has been added. appears, and the location shows in the list.

3. Publish

Publish your site so Store Pickup appears in your live checkout.

Check that it worked

On your published site, add a product to the cart and go to checkout. Under Choose Delivery Method, click Store Pickup. Select Pickup Location ("Choose a store to pick up your order.") lists your locations, and no delivery fee is added.

In the editor, pickup orders show a Fulfillment · Pickup section in their details.

Troubleshooting

Shoppers see "No store locations available." Store Pickup is on, but you haven't added a location. Click Manage Locations and add one.

"Location Name is required" (or Address, City, Country) Fill in the field named in the message.

"Invalid email format" Check the location's Email, for example store@example.com, or leave it empty.

"Failed to create location." or "No data source configured." TeleportHQ couldn't save the location to your store's database. Check that your store's database is still connected in Data Sources, then try again.

I turned off Store Pickup and Delivery turned back on Your store needs delivery or store pickup: "Delivery has been re-enabled. Either delivery or store pickup must be active."

Good to know

  • Edit or remove a location: in Store Locations, use the pencil (Edit location) or the bin (Remove location) next to it. Removing asks for confirmation in the Remove Store Location window, and can't be undone.
  • Changes show without publishing. Your live checkout reads the locations from your store's database each time it loads, so added, edited or removed locations show on your live site without a new publish. Only switching Store Pickup on or off needs a publish.
  • Pickup only: to offer only pickup, switch on Store Pickup first, then switch off Enable Delivery.
  • Pickup for some countries only: with shipping zones, mark a group of countries Do not ship. Shoppers there can still order with Store Pickup. See How to charge different shipping prices by country.
  • No delivery fee for pickup orders. Tax still follows the address the shopper enters at checkout.
  • Not for subscriptions. A cart with a subscription doesn't offer Store Pickup.
  • No shipping for pickup orders. Pickup orders have no Ship items button. When the customer collects the order, set Fulfilment to Completed. See How to find and manage orders.
  • Paying at pickup. With Cash on Delivery on, shoppers can choose Pay on Delivery / Pickup. Mark the order paid when they pay. See How to mark an order as paid.
