How to analyze form submissions with AI

In TeleportHQ, you can ask AI about your form's submissions. Open the form in Growth → Forms and, above its submissions, click the AI Analysis button (the stars icon) to open the AI Form Submissions Analyst. Pick a quick prompt, such as Where do submissions come from? or Peak submission times, or type your own question. Each answer uses AI tokens from your workspace.

Before you start

Steps

  1. In the TeleportHQ editor's left sidebar, click Growth (the last button, under Live).
  2. Under Forms, click Form submissions. Ctrl+5 (Cmd+5 on a Mac) opens it in one go. The Forms area opens over the canvas.
  3. Under Your forms, click the form, for example Homepage Form. Its submissions are listed beside the list.

  4. In the toolbar above the submissions, click the stars icon (AI Analysis). The AI Analysis panel opens on the right, with the AI Form Submissions Analyst greeting.

  5. Under Quick prompts, click one:
    • Where do submissions come from?
    • What are common trends?
    • Submission quality analysis
    • Peak submission times
    • Form submissions not working?
  6. Or type your own question in Write a message to analyze your form submissions.... For example: Which cakes do people ask about most this month?
  7. Read the answer, and ask follow-up questions in the same chat.

To start over, click Clear chat (the bin icon at the top of the panel).

Choose the answer quality

  1. Next to the AI Analysis title, click the cog.
  2. Under Agent Quality, choose:
    • Balanced (the default): more detailed answers for complex questions. It uses more tokens.
    • Simple: the cheapest option, good for straightforward questions.

Check that it worked

The panel shows an answer based on your submissions, for example a list of the countries most leads come from, or the days and hours with the most entries.

Example questions

  • Summarize the last 20 messages in three bullet points.
  • How many submissions look like spam, and why?
  • What do people in Germany ask about?
  • Why did submissions drop last week?

Troubleshooting

"Failed to get response from AI" The request didn't go through. Try again in a moment. If it keeps failing, check your AI token balance.

The token count at the top of the panel says "(Top up!)" and nothing happens when I send Your workspace has fewer than 50 AI tokens left. Click the token count to get more tokens, or wait for your monthly allowance. See What happens when I run out of AI tokens?

Good to know

  • Answers about where visitors come from use the approximate country and city TeleportHQ saves with each submission, based on the visitor's IP address.
  • You can use Form submissions not working? before the first submission arrives, for example when nothing shows up after a test.
  • This is different from AI Analysis in a database table view, which shows "AI Analysis Coming Soon".

How to see and export form submissions

In TeleportHQ, you see form submissions in Growth → Forms → Form submissions by picking a form in the Your forms list, where you search, open and edit entries, mark them as spam, move them to trash, download one as a PDF, or click Download submissions to export them as a CSV file.

What uses AI tokens, and how much?

In TeleportHQ, every AI feature uses AI tokens for the AI work it really does, so costs vary; as a guide, an AI website page is about 3,000 tokens, a web app page about 15,000, a new section at least 1,500 and a 4-second AI video about 9,000, while stock images cost nothing, a run that fails before the AI works costs nothing, and AI 3D models aren't available yet.

What happens when I run out of AI tokens?

When a TeleportHQ workspace doesn't have enough AI tokens, an AI feature stops before it starts and shows a message such as "You need more tokens to continue with this operation. Please purchase more tokens." with the Purchase Tokens window; buy a token pack, earn tokens, or wait for your plan's 30-day reset.

Why is my form not working?

A TeleportHQ form usually stops collecting submissions because the site is hosted outside TeleportHQ ("Domain not allowed"), the changes weren't published, the form's storage is off or handled by a workflow, an action attribute overrides it, a field rule refuses the value, the form expired or hit a limit, or reCAPTCHA keys don't match the domain.

How to choose what happens after someone submits a form

In TeleportHQ, you open a form's Manage Form window (Growth → Forms → Settings) and, on the Settings tab, choose what visitors see after submitting (an alert, a component, a page or a web address), who gets an email for each submission (up to 3 addresses, the workspace owner first), and when the form closes (an expiration date or a submission limit); click Save and publish.
