Why is my form not working?
A TeleportHQ form collects submissions only when your site is published on TeleportHQ hosting: your TeleportHQ address or a custom domain connected to that project. The most common causes are hosting the site elsewhere (TeleportHQ rejects those submissions with "Domain not allowed"), unpublished changes, a form whose storage is off or handled by a workflow, an action attribute that sends data to another service, a field rule that refuses what visitors type, a form that expired or hit a limit, and reCAPTCHA keys that don't match your domain.
Start here: test the right way
- Publish your site from TeleportHQ.
- Open the published address in your browser, for example the address ending in
.teleporthq.site. Your staging address works too. - Submit the form with test data, for example
test@example.com. - In the editor's left sidebar, click Growth, then Form submissions under Forms (or press Ctrl+5, Cmd+5 on a Mac). Click the form under Your forms: its submissions are listed beside it.
If the test entry is there, the form works. If not, find your symptom below.
Don't test a TeleportHQ form in Preview. The preview doesn't send forms to TeleportHQ, so nothing reaches Growth → Forms and the form's success or error message doesn't show. Test on your published site instead.
Troubleshooting
My site is hosted on Vercel, GitHub, my own server, or I downloaded the code ("Domain not allowed") TeleportHQ forms only accept submissions sent from a TeleportHQ address (teleporthq.app or teleporthq.site) or from the custom domain connected to that project in TeleportHQ. Submissions from any other address are refused with the error "Domain not allowed", visitors see your form's error message, and nothing is saved. This includes sites published to your own Vercel account, exported to GitHub, downloaded as code, or a domain connected to a different project. To fix it, choose one:
- Publish the site on TeleportHQ hosting, and connect your domain to this project. See How to connect your own domain.
- Or send the form to your own form service by setting the form's action attribute (see "Form Action Override Active" below). TeleportHQ then doesn't store or email those submissions.
I changed the form, but the live site still behaves the old way Changes reach your live site only after you publish again. At the top right, click Publish.
The form doesn't send, and the browser points at a field A field's rule refuses the value, for example an empty required field, or a phone number with letters. Visitors see your message or the browser's. Check the form's Field rules under Settings, and loosen a rule that's too strict. See How to check what visitors type in a form field.
The form sends nothing when I click the button Check that every field and the button are inside the Form element, and that the button's type is submit. See How to set up form fields (placeholders, required, types).
Publishing fails with "The maximum number of forms has been exceeded. Please upgrade your plan or delete some forms." Your project has more forms that store submissions than your plan allows. Delete a form, upgrade, or buy more forms. See How many forms and submissions can I have?
I can't add a form: "This project has reached its limit of 10 forms." No forms are left on your plan. See How many forms and submissions can I have?
The form isn't in Growth → Forms, and the Manage button is missing The form doesn't store submissions in TeleportHQ. Select the form and look at Form Submissions in the right panel:
- If it says "Form submissions are not stored. Enable to view submissions in Growth → Forms.", turn the switch on and publish.
- If it says "This form is submitted through a workflow, which already handles the submission — storage in Growth → Forms is disabled.", a workflow handles the form. Check the workflow's steps to see where the data goes.
The sign-in and checkout forms of the user accounts and store features aren't listed in Growth → Forms either.
"Form Action Override Active" The action attribute on the Form element sends submissions to another address, so TeleportHQ doesn't receive them. Above the form's submissions in Growth → Forms, or in the Manage Form window, click Remove Action Attribute to use TeleportHQ again, then publish.
The form worked before, but now visitors see an error or "no longer accepting submissions" The form reached its own Expiration Date or Submission Limit. TeleportHQ refuses new entries and shows the When limit is reached message (default "This form is no longer accepting submissions."). Change or clear these under Settings → Status (in Growth → Forms, click Settings beside the form's title), click Save and publish. See How to choose what happens after someone submits a form.
I deleted the form in the editor, and the live form now shows an error A deleted form stops accepting submissions right away, even on the live site, until you publish again. Add a new form and publish, or publish to take the old form off the page.
The page reloads when a visitor submits a form that appears after a step A form shown by a condition, for example the last step of a multi-step booking wizard, could reload the page instead of sending it on an older publish. Publish your site again: the new publish sends a form shown by a condition like any other form.
Visitors see the error message after I added reCAPTCHA keys The keys don't match your domain, they're checkbox (v2) keys instead of Score based (v3) keys, or they're swapped. TeleportHQ refuses the submission with "Invalid CAPTCHA token". Fix the keys under Settings → Spam Filter. See How to protect forms from spam (reCAPTCHA).
Some submissions are missing from the list Check two places:
- The Spam tab. Submissions that fill the hidden spam-trap field are saved there. Select real ones and click Mark as not spam.
- A row saying "N submissions not shown due to limit." Your workspace used its monthly submissions. The entries are saved, but hidden while you're over the limit. See How many forms and submissions can I have?
A form's submissions don't load, or its settings won't save This happens in a project copied before September 21, 2026 (with Clone or Duplicate, or from a template), or in a later copy of such a project. See How to duplicate a project. Its forms still belong to the project it was copied from, so TeleportHQ doesn't let this project read or change them. You see an empty list of submissions in Growth → Forms, or a message such as "Failed to update form settings. Please try again." or "Failed to download submissions. Please try again." Reloading the editor doesn't help. To give the project a form of its own:
- On the canvas, select the form and copy it (Ctrl+C, Cmd+C on a Mac).
- Paste it (Ctrl+V, Cmd+V on a Mac). The pasted form belongs to this project.
- Delete the original form.
- Publish your site.
The new form starts with no submissions: the earlier ones stay with the project the copy was made from. Instead of copying, you can also delete the form and add a new Form.
Two quick test submissions: only one arrived TeleportHQ accepts at most one submission per second from the same visitor. Wait a moment between tests.
I'm not getting notification emails Open the form's Settings (in Growth → Forms, click Settings beside the form's title). Under Notifications, check that Send new submission received is on and your address is in the list. Check your email's spam folder. If your workspace used its monthly submissions, the email says "Submission Limit Reached" instead of showing the data.
The person who filled in the form didn't get a confirmation email TeleportHQ forms only email the addresses in the form's notification list, never the person who submitted. To email them, use a workflow with an email step. See How to send emails and text messages from a workflow.
Still not working?
Note your published address and the form's name, then contact TeleportHQ support. See How to get help: AI Assistant, support chat and this help center. You can also try Form submissions not working? in the form's AI Analysis panel. See How to analyze form submissions with AI.
