How to add analytics, a GitHub token and push notification keys (Integrations)

In the TeleportHQ editor, the keys for outside services are in Project settings → Integrations: click the Project settings cog at the bottom of the left sidebar and look under Integrations. GitHub holds the token used to publish your code to GitHub. Below it, one entry appears for each app your workflows use, such as an analytics service like Google Analytics, or Slack, where you enter its credentials once for every step. Push notifications shows your push keys once they're set up. Your site's own Google Analytics or Tag Manager ID is set somewhere else, on the dashboard's Project Settings page.

Before you start

What's under Integrations

  1. In the TeleportHQ editor, at the bottom of the left sidebar, click the Project settings cog.
  2. In the Project settings panel, find the Integrations group.

The TeleportHQ Integrations group can hold:

  • GitHub: "Personal access token for code publishing." Always shown.
  • One entry per app your workflows use, right after GitHub. Its line says how many steps use it and its status, for example "2 steps in 1 workflow · Not set up".
  • Push notifications: "Keys the site uses to send notifications." Shown only after push notifications are set up.

Add your GitHub token

  1. Under Integrations, click GitHub. The GitHub settings open next to the panel.
  2. Click the field with Add your token here and paste your GitHub personal access token. To create one, follow the Github account link above the field.
  3. Press Enter, or click outside the field. The token saves, and you see "The changes have been saved".

Enter the credentials of an app your workflows use

When a workflow has a step for an outside app, such as Google Analytics, Slack or HubSpot, the TeleportHQ Integrations group lists that app. Its credentials are entered once and used by every step.

  1. Under Integrations, click the app, for example Slack.
  2. Read the top of the drawer. It shows the status (Configured, Key missing, Incomplete or Not set up) and what it means, for example "Slack steps in your workflows cannot run until the credentials below are entered."
  3. Optional: under Used in, click a workflow's name to open it at the first step that uses the app. Actions lists what those steps do.
  4. Under Credentials, paste each key. To find them, follow the help link next to the first field, or Open <app> dashboard.
  5. Click Save credentials (Replace credentials if some are already saved).

The keys are "Saved to your project’s secrets and applied to every <app> step in your workflows; the AI assistant never sees these values." Some apps need no keys; their drawer says "<app> needs no credentials."

Remove an app's credentials

  1. Open the app under Integrations.
  2. Click Remove credentials.
  3. In the Remove <app> credentials? window, read the warning: "The stored keys are deleted from your project and every <app> step in your workflows stops working until new credentials are entered."
  4. Click Remove. You see "<app> credentials removed."

Push notification keys

Push notifications appears under Integrations after push notifications are set up from a workflow step. It shows your public and private keys, and Create new keys. See What are the Custom files and Push notifications settings?.

Analytics for your whole site

The TeleportHQ Integrations group covers analytics steps in workflows only. For analytics on your whole site:

Troubleshooting

An app shows Key missing A saved key no longer has a value, for example because its secret was deleted. Open the app, paste the key again and click Replace credentials.

I don't see my app under Integrations It shows only while a workflow has a step for it. Add the step first.

I don't see Push notifications Push notifications aren't set up yet. In a workflow, open a Subscribe to Push or Send Push Notification step and click Set up push notifications.
