A tour of Project settings: everything you can set for your project

In the TeleportHQ editor, every setting that applies to a whole project is in one Project settings panel. To open it, click the Project settings cog at the bottom of the left sidebar. The panel lists its entries under seven groups: Site, Appearance, Data & code, Editor, AI, Credentials and Integrations. Click an entry to open its settings in a drawer next to the panel. Most settings save on their own as you change them. Features such as the store, the blog or bookings are switched on in the Plugins tab of the left sidebar instead.

How to open Project settings

  1. In the TeleportHQ editor, at the bottom of the left sidebar, click the Project settings cog. The Project settings panel opens.
  2. Click an entry, for example General. Its settings open in a drawer next to the panel. To find a setting by name, type in the Search settings... box under the panel's title, for example favicon or redirects: the panel keeps only the entries that hold it.
  3. Some entries have several parts. SEO & social, Design language and Preferences first list their parts in the drawer. Click a part to open it in a second column.
  4. To close the drawer, click the X at its top right. To close the panel, click the cog again.

Each entry shows a one-line description. Point at an entry to read the whole description and the parts it holds. The search finds entries by their names and descriptions and by the settings inside them, such as the switches under Preferences and the services under Credentials. When nothing matches, the panel says "No settings found".

The seven groups

The middle of the TeleportHQ Project settings panel with groups 5 AI, 6 Credentials and 7 Integrations numbered

The TeleportHQ Project settings panel lists its entries in this order:

  1. Site: the project's name, favicon and password protection, SEO and social sharing, and its languages.
  2. Appearance: your design language, fonts and page transitions.
  3. Data & code: global state, custom code, custom files and secrets.
  4. Editor: your own preferences for how the editor behaves and what it shows, and the project's advanced features.
  5. AI: what the AI knows about your business, and how the AI Assistant works in this project.
  6. Credentials: the AI, email and SMS services your site's workflows use.
  7. Integrations: your GitHub token, the apps your workflows connect to, and the push notification keys.

The sections below describe every entry, in the panel's order.

Site

The Site group of TeleportHQ Project settings holds the settings that identify your site.

Appearance

The Appearance group of TeleportHQ Project settings holds how your whole site looks and moves.

Data & code

The Data & code group of TeleportHQ Project settings holds values and code that every page shares.

Editor

The Editor group of TeleportHQ Project settings has one entry, Preferences, with three parts:

  • Editing: how the editor behaves while you work, such as spell-check, automatic translation and the links added for new pages.
  • View: what the editor shows, such as the left sidebar's tabs, comments, the toolbar and the canvas guides.
  • Advanced features: optional behaviours for this project's editor and export, such as Advanced Embeds or the Private Folder.

Editing and View are your own preferences: they change the editor for you, not for your collaborators. See How to change editor preferences (Editing, View and Advanced features) and How to turn on Advanced Features.

AI

The AI group of TeleportHQ Project settings controls the AI in this project.

  • Project brief: what the AI knows about your business: its description, brand name, main language and your setup answers.
  • Assistant: your custom instructions for the AI Assistant, how much of the conversation it remembers, what it may do without asking, and when it stops to check with you.

See How to give the AI your business details and instructions (Project brief) and How to choose what the AI Assistant may do without asking.

Credentials

The Credentials group of TeleportHQ Project settings holds the accounts your site's workflows send through.

  • AI Providers: the API keys the AI steps in your workflows run on. See How to use your own AI provider keys in your web app.
  • Email Providers: the service your site sends email through, such as SendGrid or Resend.
  • SMS Providers: the service your site sends text messages through, such as Twilio.

See How to choose which email and SMS provider your project sends through.

Integrations

The Integrations group of TeleportHQ Project settings holds the keys for outside services.

  • GitHub: the personal access token used to publish your code to GitHub.
  • One entry for each app your workflows use, for example Slack or HubSpot. It appears as soon as a workflow has a step for that app, and shows whether its credentials are in place.
  • Push notifications: the keys your site uses to send browser notifications. It appears only after push notifications are set up in a workflow.

See How to add analytics, a GitHub token and push notification keys (Integrations).

Features are in the Plugins tab

TeleportHQ Project settings has no Features group any more. To switch Authentication, E-commerce, Blog, Help Center, Bookings, AI assistant chat or Admin panel on or off, click Plugins in the left sidebar, then the feature. Its drawer also starts its tutorial, opens its panel and holds its main settings. Only Internationalization stays in Project settings, under Site. See How to turn features on or off (Plugins).

For the full setup of each feature, see How to add a store to an existing project, How to add a blog to your site, How to add sign-up and login to your site, How to turn on the admin panel and How to add an AI chatbot to your web app.

At the bottom of the TeleportHQ Project settings panel, three icons open help:

Good to know

  • Who can change settings. Changing TeleportHQ project settings needs the Owner, Admin or Designer role. See What can each role do? (Admin, Designer, Editor, Viewer).
  • Saving. Most drawers save as you change them, with no Save button. A few have their own button: the Project brief, the provider and integration credentials, and Custom files.
  • The dashboard page. On the dashboard, the project card's ⋯ menu has Project Settings. It opens a separate page with tabs for some of these settings, such as General, SEO, Fonts, Custom Code and Secrets, where most tabs have a Save Changes button.
