How to choose what the AI Assistant may do without asking
The TeleportHQ AI Assistant shows a confirmation card before actions that cost many tokens or are hard to reverse, such as changing or deleting records, deleting pages, publishing, refunding an order or generating a page. Changes the assistant plans together wait on one card: you confirm them all with Apply, or refuse them all with Don't apply. To change which actions run without asking, click Settings at the top of the chat and turn the switches under Automation on or off.
Before you start
- Open the AI Assistant: in the editor, click AI Assistant above the top right of the canvas.
- These settings are yours, for the project you're in. Collaborators keep their own.

| Editing your page | Confirm AI edit | No |
| Updating or deleting database records, renaming a column or changing its type, deleting a table | Confirm database changes: one card for every change the assistant planned, before any of them is made | Yes. A card that deletes a table always asks |
| Deleting a page or component, changing your design system (colors, fonts, spacing), publishing | Confirm these changes: one card for everything the assistant prepared, after it has prepared it | Yes |
| Refunding, cancelling or marking an order paid, or changing a buyer's subscription (stores) | Confirm these changes, in red | Always, can't be turned off |
| Deleting or renaming a state that elements or workflows use, while editing a page | Confirm these state changes | Always, can't be turned off |
| Changing a reusable workflow step that several workflows use | Confirm shared workflow change | Yes |

| Deleting a bookable item | Confirm action | Yes |
| Rebuilding the booking pages | Confirm action | Yes |
Answer a confirmation card
- Read the card above the message box. Its title says what the assistant wants to do. A card for several changes lists them, one per line: Confirm database changes groups them by table and says how many rows each one touches, and Confirm these changes names each page or component it would delete and where a component is used. On other cards, click the line under the title to see the exact change.
- If the card offers a choice, pick Accept this change, or accept all changes of that kind for the current message (for example Accept workflow changes for this message).
- To go ahead, click Apply on a card that lists several changes, Allow on the others, or the card's own button, such as Generate, Extend or Edit.
- To refuse, click Don't apply (or Reject, Keep the states, Don't generate, Don't extend, Don't edit). Optionally type why in Why? (optional), then click Confirm reject. Back takes you back to the card.
Only Confirm shared workflow change and the Confirm action cards for deleting a bookable item or rebuilding the booking pages offer the choice in step 2. Every other card is confirmed on its own.
- Confirm database changes may first show the status "Counting the rows this changes…". When the deletes and updates it planned match no row, the assistant goes ahead without the card. When the assistant noted risks, Risks to know about under the list opens them.
- Confirm these changes is red when it holds a refund, a cancellation, a payment marked by hand, a subscription change or a deletion. When it deletes a component used elsewhere, View instances of followed by the component's name shows where.
- Confirm these state changes comes after a page edit that would delete or rename a state something still uses. It lists each change with what uses the state. Keep the states leaves them as they are.
On the Confirm image generation, Confirm scroll video and Confirm clip extension cards, you can change the Generation prompt before you click Generate or Extend. A scroll video told in several shots shows The clip's look and Shots, one per place, in order; edit any shot, or empty it to drop it.
A card waits until you answer it. If you close the editor while a card is open, the AI Assistant asks Your assistant was mid-task when the session ended — pick up where it left off? when you come back. Click Resume to see the card again.
Change what runs without asking
- At the top of the TeleportHQ AI Assistant, click Settings (the gear).
- Under Automation, turn on or off:
- Apply edits (on by default): the AI starts page edits without asking. Turn it off to get a Confirm AI edit card for each edit.
- Auto-allow data ops (off by default): the database changes the assistant plans run without a Confirm database changes card, unless they delete a table, and bookable items are deleted without a card.
- Auto-allow project ops (off by default): deleting pages or components, changing the design system and publishing run without a Confirm these changes card, unless the card would also hold a refund or another money action. Changing a shared workflow step and rebuilding the booking pages run without a card too.
- Auto-allow generations (off by default): start generating a new page, component, image or scroll video without a card.
Under Safety, choose Pause after: how many update or delete operations the AI may run one by one in one message before it stops to ask. Choose 2, 3, 4, 5, 6, 8 or 10 ops, or Unlimited (the default). Changes approved together on one Confirm database changes or Confirm these changes card, by you or by your settings, aren't counted.
- Close the settings with the ×. The changes apply to your next actions.
The same switches are in Project settings → AI → Assistant, worded Apply page edits, Change or delete data, Change the project, Generate new pages and components and Pause after this many data operations. Both places change the same settings.
You can also open the AI Assistant's settings from a card that offers the choice in step 2: click Want the agent to work independently? Open settings.
Check that it worked
Send a request that uses the action you changed. If you allowed it, the TeleportHQ AI Assistant goes ahead without a card. If not, the card appears above the message box.
Troubleshooting
"The assistant has made {n} data changes in this request. Let it continue?" The Pause after limit was reached, and the card Still working appears. Click Continue to let it go on, or Stop to halt it.
"This request expired while waiting for an answer — nothing went wrong, and the operation never ran." The request ended before you answered the card, for example because you clicked Stop generation. To go ahead, ask the assistant to retry in a new message.
"Your assistant was mid-task when the session ended — pick up where it left off?" The editor closed while the assistant was working or waiting for you. Click Resume to continue.
A card says "Need your input" The assistant is asking a question, not for permission. Click one of the options, or type your answer in Or type your own answer... and click Send.
Auto-allow project ops is on, but a Confirm these changes card still appears The card also holds a refund, a cancellation, a payment marked by hand or a subscription change. Those always ask.
Good to know
- Allowing database changes never allows project changes, and the other way around.
- Database changes can't be undone in any way. While Pause after is set to Unlimited, the settings warn: "The AI can run unlimited delete and update operations without pausing. Data source operations cannot be undone in any way." Read the Confirm database changes card before you click Apply.
- Refunds, cancellations, payments marked by hand and subscription changes go through your store's payment provider and can't be undone. No setting lets them run without a card.
- The same goes for bookings: accepting, declining, cancelling, marking attended or no-show, refunding a booking and switching Bookings off always show a Confirm action card. It warns "This action is confirmed one operation at a time." A booking's new status reaches its customer, and a refund moves money, so neither can be undone in the editor.
- Before letting the AI work on its own, take a backup of your project. See How to back up and restore your project.
- Page edits and page or component deletions can be undone. See How to undo changes made by the AI Assistant.
- Adding new records doesn't show a card. To check or fix records, see How to view, add and edit records.
