How to undo changes made by the AI Assistant

To undo a change the TeleportHQ AI Assistant made to your page, click Undo above the canvas or press Ctrl+Z (Cmd+Z on Mac). One AI Assistant request is one Undo step, so a single click takes back the whole edit. Pages or components the assistant deleted come back the same way. For bigger changes, restore a project backup. Database changes, store refunds or cancellations, and booking actions or refunds made by the AI can't be undone.

Undo a page edit or deletion

  1. Wait until the TeleportHQ AI Assistant has finished. The canvas notice AI is editing this page — manual changes may conflict disappears.
  2. Above the canvas, click Undo (or press Ctrl+Z / Cmd+Z). The assistant's last request is reverted.

The Undo and Redo buttons above the TeleportHQ canvas, with Undo highlighted
  3. To go back further, click Undo again. Each click takes back one more request or one more of your own edits.
  4. Changed your mind? Click Redo (or press Ctrl+Shift+Z / Cmd+Shift+Z).

If you edited the page yourself while the assistant was working, your edit keeps its own Undo step. Some actions in the same request, such as deleting a page, are a step of their own too.

For more about undo, see How to undo and redo changes.

Restore a backup for bigger changes

The undo history only lives in your current browser tab. It's cleared when you reload or leave the project, and it doesn't include changes made by collaborators. If undo isn't enough:

  1. In the editor toolbar, click Backups.
  2. Find a backup from before the AI change. TeleportHQ also saves automatic backups, labeled Auto Save, and a backup before some big changes, such as Before Web App features Enabled.
  3. Click Restore, then confirm. Keep Create a safety backup before restoring? checked.
  4. The page reloads with the restored project.

Backups aren't included in the trial. On a trial, ask TeleportHQ support to restore your project. See How to back up and restore your project. Before asking the AI for a big redesign, create a backup first.

Roll back a publish

If the TeleportHQ AI Assistant published your site and you want the previous live version back, roll back to an earlier deployment. See How to go back to an earlier version of your live site. Undo in the editor doesn't change your live site.

Database changes can't be undone

Records and tables the TeleportHQ AI Assistant adds, updates or deletes stay that way. That includes your bookable items and bookings, which are database records too. The settings say: "Data source operations cannot be undone in any way." Restoring a project backup brings back the tables and columns the backup had, but not the records in them. A backup from before the project had a database deletes the database when you restore it; TeleportHQ warns you first. To protect your data:

Go back in a chat

A TeleportHQ AI Assistant chat has no restore point. To continue from an earlier point in the conversation, hover a message you sent and click Fork to start a new chat from there. This changes the conversation only, not your project.

Troubleshooting

The Undo button is greyed out There is nothing to undo in this tab, for example because the page was reloaded after the AI change. Restore a backup instead.

Undo removed my own edit instead of the AI's Undo reverses changes in order, newest first. Click Redo to bring your edit back, then continue with Undo.

How to back up and restore your project

In the TeleportHQ editor, click Backups in the bottom toolbar, then Backup current project state to save a snapshot, or Restore next to a backup (such as Before Web App features Enabled) to bring the project back to that point; backups need a Pro or Premium plan, trial users ask support to restore, and you must republish afterwards.

In the TeleportHQ AI Assistant, click Settings and use the Automation switches (Apply edits, Auto-allow data ops, Auto-allow project ops, Auto-allow generations) and the Pause after setting to decide which actions run on their own and which show a confirmation card first; database changes the assistant plans together are confirmed on one card, and so are its deletions, design changes, publishing and refunds; the same switches are in Project settings → AI → Assistant.
