How to publish, move or delete several posts at once

In the TeleportHQ Blog panel, you can act on many posts in one go: tick the posts, and the search box above the list turns into a bar with Publish, Unpublish, Move to…, Set author… and Delete. Each button acts on every ticked post. The Help Center panel has the same bar for articles.

Before you start

Steps

1. Tick the posts

  1. In the left sidebar, click Blog (or Help Center).
  2. Optional: narrow the list first with a category above it, or with the search box. Only the posts the list shows can be ticked.
  3. Point at the small picture at the left of a post. A tick box takes its place. Click the tick box.
  4. Every row now shows a tick box. Tick the other posts you want.
  5. To tick every post in the list, click the box at the top, next to 2 selected. To untick them all, click the X (Clear selection).

  2. Publish and Unpublish.
  3. Move to… and Set author….
  4. Delete.

2. Choose what to do

  • Publish: every ticked post gets the Published status and shows on your live site within seconds. The message reads, for example, "2 posts published."
  • Unpublish: every ticked post goes back to Draft and leaves your live site. "2 posts unpublished."
  • Move to…: a Move to category list opens. Click a category, for example Bakery news. It replaces the categories of every ticked post. "2 posts moved to Bakery news."

  • Set author…: a Set author list opens with your authors and No author. Click one. It replaces the author of every ticked post. "2 posts credited to Ana Popescu."

  • Delete: a window titled Delete 2 Posts says "You are about to permanently delete 2 posts from your project." Click Delete 2 Posts to delete them, or Cancel. Deleting can't be undone.

Check that it worked

  • A message says how many posts changed, and the tick boxes clear.
  • In the list, each post shows its new badge (Published or Draft). A moved post shows under its new category when you pick that category above the list.

Troubleshooting

"No categories yet" in the Move to category list The blog has no categories. "Add categories to your blog first." Open More (the three dots) → Manage Categories. See How to use blog categories, tags and related posts.

The Set author list only shows No author The authors list is empty. Add authors in Blog Settings → Author Box → Authors. See How to add authors to your posts and articles.

A post I ticked isn't ticked any more Changing the category or the search unticks the posts the list no longer shows, so an action only reaches what you can see.

An "Unsaved Changes" window opens One of the ticked posts is open in its panel with changes you haven't saved. Click Keep Editing to go back and save them, or Discard Changes to drop them and run the action.

Good to know

  • The search box comes back when nothing is ticked.
  • The grips that put your posts in your own order show only after you click Reorder beside the search box, and they hide while posts are ticked. See How to put posts or articles in your own order.
  • In the Help Center panel, the bar says "articles", for example Delete 2 Articles.
  • To publish posts at a set time instead of now, see How to schedule a blog post.
