TeleportHQ database limits by plan
On a Pro or Premium plan, the built-in TeleportHQ database holds up to 200,000 records per table, 3,000,000 records in total and 2 GB of storage, with up to 30 tables, 20 columns per table and 20 indexes. A TeleportHQ database created during the trial gets the lower tier instead: 5,000 records per table, 15,000 in total and 50 MB, and it becomes inactive 7 days after it's created unless the workspace subscribes. Your database's numbers are in the Plan Limitations box of its panel.
TeleportHQ database limits table
| Limit | Database created during the trial | Pro and Premium |
|---|---|---|
| Records per table | 5,000 | 200,000 |
| Records in the whole database | 15,000 | 3,000,000 |
| Storage | 50 MB | 2 GB |
| Tables you create in the editor | 30 | 30 | | Columns per table | 20 | 20 | | Indexes, all tables together | 20 | 20 | | How long the database stays active | 7 days after it's created | While the subscription is active |
A record is one row in a table, for example one product or one booking. Records and storage are counted by the database itself. Tables, columns and indexes are counted by the editor when you add them.
When AI creates tables for you, it may go up to 50% over the table, column and index limits so it can finish your request.
See your TeleportHQ database's limits
- In the left sidebar, click Data Sources (the database icon).
- Click your TeleportHQ database card.
- Click Setup TeleportHQ Database (the section with the check mark) to open it.
- Find the Plan Limitations box: records per table, total records and storage.
The badge next to Plan Limitations reads Paid Plan on Pro and Premium, Trial Plan during the trial, and Free Plan after the trial or a subscription has ended. On the lower tier, point at see paid plan limitations beside the title to see the Pro and Premium numbers.
Which tier your TeleportHQ database gets
The tier is decided when the TeleportHQ database is created, and changes when your subscription changes:
- Pro and Premium workspaces get the Pro and Premium tier.
- Workspaces without an active subscription, including every workspace on the trial, get the lower tier, with the 7-day limit.
- When a workspace subscribes, TeleportHQ moves its databases to the Pro and Premium tier. The workspace owner gets a Database Upgraded email for each database that was still active.
During the trial
A TeleportHQ workspace on the trial doesn't have a subscription yet, so a TeleportHQ database created during the trial gets the lower tier: 5,000 records per table, 15,000 in total, 50 MB, and it becomes inactive 7 days after it's created.
In the editor, the Plan Limitations box shows a Trial Plan badge with these starter numbers, an Upgrade button and the notice "During the trial your database uses these starter limits and stays active for 7 days. Subscribing keeps it running and raises the limits to the paid plan ones." Subscribing to Pro or Premium moves the database to the Pro and Premium tier. See Why is my TeleportHQ database inactive?
After the trial or a subscription ends
- When a Pro or Premium subscription ends, the workspace's TeleportHQ databases move to the lower tier. That starts a new 7-day period. The workspace owner gets an email titled "Important: Database Downgraded".
- The Plan Limitations box then shows a Free Plan badge, the lower numbers, an Upgrade button and the notice "The database stays active for 7 days. After that it becomes inactive until you upgrade."
- The editor's own limits drop too: 10 tables, 10 columns per table and 5 indexes.
- After the 7 days, the database becomes inactive and pages and features that use it stop working. TeleportHQ keeps a backup of the data for 30 days, and subscribing within those 30 days restores it. See Why is my TeleportHQ database inactive?
When you reach a TeleportHQ database limit
- Adding records: the table window says "We could not create the record. Make sure you have enough permissions and you fill all the required fields." The same message appears when the table is full for your plan. If you're the owner or an admin and every required field is filled, delete records you don't need, or upgrade.
- Creating tables: "You've reached the maximum number of tables for your plan (limit: 30). Upgrade your plan or remove unused tables to continue."
- Adding columns: "You've reached the maximum number of columns per table for your plan (limit: 20)…"
- Adding indexes: the Indexes section of a table's Structure view shows "Currently using: x / 20 indexes", and adding one more says "Index limit reached."
- Importing a file: a file with more than 10% too many records is refused, for example
Table "products" has too many records. Maximum allowed: 200,000. Please upgrade your subscription or reduce the data size.
Good to know
- Other databases have no TeleportHQ limits. If you connect your own database (PostgreSQL, MySQL, Supabase and others), its limits come from your database provider. See How to connect a database.
- Importing from a file can create up to 50 tables and 50 indexes, with up to 20 columns per table, and it can't go past your plan's limits either. See How to import data from a spreadsheet file.
