How to use the command palette
The TeleportHQ command palette is a search box you open with Ctrl+P (Cmd+P on a Mac). Type part of the name of a page, component, workflow, form, table or CSS class and press Enter to open it. Type > first to see commands instead, such as Create new page, Find and replace text, Check accessibility or Publish project. Press Esc to close it.
Before you start
- The command palette opens only from the keyboard. There is no button for it.
- It needs a role that can change project settings (Owner, Admin or Designer). Other roles see Your current role does not have permission to open the command palette.
- It isn't available on screens narrower than 768 pixels.
Find and open anything in your project
The TeleportHQ command palette searches your whole project: pages, CMS pages, components, workflows, forms, data sources and their tables, CSS classes and custom workflow steps.
- In the editor, press Ctrl+P (Cmd+P on a Mac). A search box opens at the top of the screen with the text Search pages, components, workflows, tables, forms and classes (type > for commands). Before you type, the list shows your pages, then your components.
- Type part of the name, for example
terms. The best matches come first. Each result says what it is: Page, CMS page, Component, Workflow, Form, Table, Data source, Class or Custom node. - Use the ↑ and ↓ arrow keys to highlight the one you want.
- Press Enter, or click it.
What opens depends on the result:
- A page or component opens on the canvas.
- A workflow or custom step opens in the Workflows panel.
- A data source or table opens in the Data Sources panel.
- A form opens on the page it's on.
- A class opens in the Classes tab of the Design Language panel on the right.
Run a command
- Press Ctrl+Shift+P (Cmd+Shift+P on a Mac). In Firefox, press Ctrl+Alt+P (Cmd+Option+P on a Mac). You can also press Ctrl+P and type
>as the first character. - A > badge appears at the left of the box and the list shows commands.
- Type part of a command name, for example
new page. - Press Enter, or click the command.
To go back to searching names, click the > badge or delete the >.
Commands you can run
These are the commands the TeleportHQ command palette offers while you design on the canvas:
| Command | What it does |
|---|---|
| Create new page | Adds a page to the main Pages folder. If your site has a navigation bar and a footer, the new page starts with them. See How to add a new page. |
| Create new component | Adds a blank component to Components. |
| Preview component | Opens the page or component you have open in a new preview tab. See How to preview your site before publishing. |
| Project settings | Opens your project's settings on a page of their own. To change settings while you keep editing, click the Project settings cog at the bottom of the left sidebar instead. |
| Animate current page (or Animate current component) | Adds entrance animations to the open page. See How to animate a whole page in one click. |
| Animate all pages | Adds entrance animations to every page. |
| Find and replace text | Opens the Find and replace panel, to change a word on every page at once. Ctrl+Alt+F (Cmd+Option+F on a Mac) opens it too. |
| Check accessibility | Opens the Accessibility check of your project. It lists problems that make your site hard to use for some visitors, such as Image without alternative text or Text with low contrast, with Errors, Warnings and All filters, and helps you fix them. Project Menu → Accessibility check opens it too. |
| Tailor project to my business | Starts the AI flow that adapts your project's content to your business. |
| Enable optimisations for all images / Disable optimisations for all images | Turns image optimization on or off for every image. |
| Delete all unused assets | Removes files in your assets that no page uses. You're asked to confirm first. |
| Clean up unused scroll video encodes | Removes scroll-scene video versions that no element uses any more. You're asked to confirm first. |
| Continue on CodeSandbox / Continue on Github | Opens your code in CodeSandbox, or exports it to GitHub. GitHub needs a GitHub token in Project settings → Integrations → GitHub. Not listed in web app projects. |
| Export as React project, Export as Angular project, Export as Vue project, Export as Next project, Export as Nuxt project | Downloads your website's code as a ZIP file. Downloading code is part of the paid plans (Pro and Premium). Not listed in web app projects. See Can I download my site's code? |
| Publish project | Publishes your site, with the same checks as the Publish button at the top right. You see Publish started. We will notify you when it's done. |
| Scan for leftover internal records / Clean up leftover internal records | Maintenance: the scan reports data left behind by earlier deletions, and the cleanup removes it. Nothing on your pages changes. The cleanup can't be undone. |
Check that it worked
After you pick a result, it opens, and a page or component's tab is highlighted above the canvas. After you run a command, the palette closes and the result appears, for example a new page in the Pages list.
Troubleshooting
Nothing happens when I press Ctrl+P Click an empty part of the canvas first, so the editor (not a text field) has focus. If your browser window is narrower than 768 pixels, make it wider.
"Your current role does not have permission to open the command palette" Your role can't change project settings. Ask the project owner or an Admin for a role with more rights, or use the menus instead. See What can each role do?
"Github token is not set in project settings." Add a GitHub token before using Continue on Github: click the Project settings cog at the bottom of the left sidebar, then Integrations → GitHub. See How to export your project to GitHub.
"Your project is still generating. Please wait for it to finish before publishing." The AI is still building your site. Wait until it finishes, then run Publish project again.
The export commands aren't in the list Your project is a web app. Web app projects can't export their code. See Can I download my site's code?
Something I'm looking for isn't in the list The search matches names (and, for forms and tables, the page or data source they belong to), not URLs. Pages your role isn't allowed to see don't appear. If you pick something a collaborator deleted a moment ago, you see that it no longer exists in this project.
