How to add a product
To add a product to your TeleportHQ store, open the E-Commerce panel from the editor's left sidebar and click + (Add Product) next to Products. Type the product's name and price, check the currency and the status, and click Create Product. The product is saved to your store and appears in the Products list. Variants, discounts, subscriptions and downloads are optional extras on the same form.
Before you start
- The store must be turned on. See How to add a store to an existing project.
- If a payment provider is connected, pick a currency it supports.
Steps
- In the editor's left sidebar, click E-commerce (the card icon). If you don't see it, click Plugins, then E-commerce, then Open next to E-commerce panel. The E-Commerce panel opens.
- Next to Products, click + (tooltip Add Product). The Create Product panel opens beside it.
- In Product Name, type the name, for example
Rye Sourdough Loaf. The Slug (the end of the product's web address) fills in by itself:rye-sourdough-loaf. - In Description, describe the product, for example
Slow-fermented rye loaf, baked every morning.
- In Price, type the price, for example
6.50. - In Currency, search for and choose your currency, for example
EUR. A new product always starts onUSD, whatever currency your store uses, so check it each time. - Check Status. A new product starts on Active, which lets shoppers see and buy it. Choose Draft or Inactive to keep it hidden for now.
- At the bottom of the panel, click Create Product. The message "Product "Rye Sourdough Loaf" created successfully!" appears.
Optional details
The Create Product panel has more fields you can fill in before you click Create Product:
- Product Images and 3D Model: see How to add product photos and 3D models.
- Quantity: how many you have in stock, for example
40. See How to track stock and get low-stock alerts. - SKU: your own product code, for example
BRD-RYE-01. - Dimensions, Weight and Weight Unit: for example
25x12x10 cm,0.8andkg. They're hidden for a digital product, which ships nothing. - Categories and Tags: help shoppers find the product. See How to organize products into categories.
- Google Shopping details: Brand, Condition, GTIN and MPN. See How to list products on Google Shopping.
- Custom Properties: click Add Custom Property and fill in Key and Value, for example
FlourandOrganic rye. Keep Show on the product details page ticked to show it as a label on the product page.
More ways to sell it
Below the price, the TeleportHQ product form has a section called More ways to sell it: "Optional — a simple product needs none of these. Each one opens beside this form." Each row shows Add until you set it up, then a summary such as 3 variants.
- Variants: sizes or colors, each with its own price, stock and SKU. See How to add sizes, colors and other variants.
- Options: what shoppers choose or add before buying, such as an engraving or a photo. See How to let shoppers personalize a product (product options).
- Related products and Discounts: see How to put products on sale and show related products.
- Product page: the standard product page, or a page of its own. See How to give a product its own page and design.
Subscriptions, downloads and gift cards
Three settings change what kind of product it is:
- Payment Type: One Time (the default) or Recurring for a subscription. See How to sell subscriptions and manage subscribers.
- This product is digital: delivered as files or license keys. See How to sell digital products (downloads and license keys).
- This product is a gift card: buying it issues a gift card. See How to sell gift cards and accept them at checkout.
Edit or delete a product
- Edit: in the Products list, click the product. A panel titled with its name, for example Editing Rye Sourdough Loaf, opens. Make your changes and click Save Changes. You can also double-click a product's name, price or description on the canvas to open its form.
- Find a product: once the store has more than five products, a Search products... box and a Filter products button appear above the list. The filter shows All products, Gift cards, Digital products, Recurring products or One-time products, with a count for each.
- Delete: on the product's card, click the trash icon (tooltip Delete product). In the Delete Product window, click Delete Product. This can't be undone.
Which currency your store uses
A TeleportHQ store has one currency of its own. Its gift cards, vouchers and discounts use it, and so do the prices of Bookings in the same project. A store you build with AI starts in the currency of the country you're in, for example euros (EUR) from Germany, and in US dollars (USD) when TeleportHQ can't tell where you are. A store you add yourself starts in US dollars (USD). Shoppers pay in the currency of the products in their cart, so give every product the same currency.
To change your store's currency, change it on one product and apply it to all of them:
- In the Products list, click a product to open it.
- In Currency, choose the new currency, for example
EUR. - Click Save Changes. The Update Product Currency window asks "Would you like to update the currency for all your other products as well?"
- Click Yes, update all. Every product, and your store, now use the new currency.
No, keep existing changes that one product only, and your store keeps its currency.
After the store is set up, only Yes, update all changes its currency: creating your products in euros leaves the store on US dollars. If all your products are already in euros but your gift cards or bookings still use US dollars, change one product to another currency with Yes, update all, then back to euros with Yes, update all again.
On a site with Bookings and no store, the Activate Bookings window picks the currency of your business's timezone instead, for example euros (EUR) for Europe/Sofia, and you can choose another. See How to add bookings to an existing project.
Translate a product
If your TeleportHQ site has more than one language, the product form starts with a Content language strip. Pick a language to type that language's name, description and tags. A field you leave empty shows the main language's text on the site. Images, price, stock, categories and variants are shared by every language. To fill the empty fields with AI, click Translate followed by the number of empty fields, for example Translate 3 empty fields. See How to translate your site automatically.
Check that it worked
The product appears in the Products list with its photo, its price and a One-time label (or Recurring · every month for a subscription). Labels such as 3 variants, 3D or Digital show what else is set up. On your published site, the products page (/products) lists it with an Add to Cart button. If your store isn't online yet, publish first. A price or detail you change later shows on the published site within about five minutes, without a new publish: the site keeps the data it last read for that long.
Troubleshooting
"Add a product name to save it." or "Enter a price above 0 to save the product." The Create Product button always responds, then names what's missing and takes you to that field. Fill it in and click Create Product again.
"A product with this name already exists" Each product needs a different name. Add a detail, for example Rye Sourdough Loaf – Large.
"PayPal does not support EUR" or "No active payment provider supports EUR" A connected payment provider can't take that currency. Choose another currency.
A warning under Payment Type says your provider "cannot take payments for" this kind of product None of your connected providers can sell this kind of product (Paddle sells digital products only, for example). Add one of the providers the message names, or change the product.
A window asks "Update Product Currency" You changed this product's currency. Click Yes, update all to use the new currency on every product and in your store, or No, keep existing to change only this one. See Which currency your store uses.
An "Unsaved Changes" window appears when you close the panel Your edits are saved only when you click Create Product or Save Changes. Click Keep Editing to go back, or Discard Changes to close without saving.
Good to know
- Status controls visibility. Draft and Inactive products are hidden from shoppers. Only Active products can be bought.
- Products live in your store's database, not in your payment provider. The store sets no limit on the number of products; your database's own limits still apply. See TeleportHQ database limits by plan.
- Faster ways to add products: click Autofill using AI at the top of the Create Product panel (How to fill in product details with AI), or import a file (How to import products from a file (including Shopify)).
