How to fill in product details with AI

When you create a product in a TeleportHQ store, Autofill using AI writes the product for you from a short description. In the E-Commerce panel, click + (Add Product), click Autofill using AI, describe the product and click Generate Product. The AI fills in the name, description, price, category, photos and other details. Nothing is saved until you check the form and click Create Product.

Before you start

  • Your workspace needs at least 500 AI tokens. See What uses AI tokens, and how much?.
  • Autofill using AI is only on the form for a new product. It isn't there when you edit a product you already saved.

Steps

  1. In the editor's left sidebar (the icon column), click E-commerce (the card icon). The E-Commerce panel opens. If you don't see the icon, click Plugins, then E-commerce, then Open next to E-commerce panel.
  2. In the Products section, click + (tooltip Add Product). The Create Product form opens beside the panel.
  3. At the top right of the form, click Autofill using AI. The Generate Product with AI window opens.

  1. In What product do you want to create?, describe the product. Say what it is, who it's for, the price you want and what makes it special. For example: A sourdough loaf made with rye and toasted seeds, about 900 g, baked fresh every morning. Price around 7 EUR.
  2. Click Generate Product, or press Enter. The button reads Generating… while the AI works. (Shift+Enter adds a new line instead.)

  1. The window closes and the form is filled in. Check every field, especially Price, Currency and Payment Type.
  2. Change anything you need, for example Quantity or the photos.
  3. At the bottom of the form, click Create Product.

What the AI fills in

Autofill using AI in TeleportHQ fills in:

  • Product Name, Slug (the end of the product's web address), Description, SKU, Tags and Custom Properties.
  • Price and Currency.
  • Categories: it picks from your store's categories, and can create a new one when none fits.
  • Product Images: stock photos found for the product.
  • Payment Type: One Time, unless your description says the product is billed on a schedule (a monthly box, a membership). It only picks a subscription when your store has a payment provider that can bill one. See How to sell subscriptions and manage subscribers.
  • This product is digital and This product is a gift card: switched on only when your description says so, for example a downloadable recipe book or a gift card.
  • Options: if shoppers would personalize the product (a message on a cake, a choice of size), the AI suggests options. It only does this when the product has no options yet. See How to let shoppers personalize a product (product options).
  • Translations: if your site has several languages, the AI also writes the text in each language.

On a site with one language, everything a shopper reads (the name, description, category and new category names, tags, custom property values and option labels) is written in that language, whatever language you describe the product in.

The AI doesn't fill in variants, stock (Quantity), weight, dimensions or the Google Shopping details. Add them yourself.

Check that it worked

The message "Product "…" created successfully!" appears, and the new product is in the Products list with the name and price the AI wrote.

Troubleshooting

A window asks you to buy AI tokens Your workspace doesn't have enough AI tokens. Buy more tokens, or fill in the product by hand. See How to buy more AI tokens.

"Failed to generate product. Please try again." The AI couldn't finish. Click Generate Product again. If it keeps failing, write a shorter, clearer description. This message also shows when your workspace has fewer than 500 AI tokens left: check your token balance.

The price or currency is wrong The AI guesses prices from your description. Always check Price before you save, and write the price you want in the description.

The product came out as one-time, not a subscription The AI only makes a subscription when a connected payment provider can bill one. Connect one, or change Payment Type yourself. See How to sell subscriptions and manage subscribers.

Good to know

  • New categories are removed if you don't save. A category the AI created for the product is deleted again when you close the form without clicking Create Product.
  • Closing the form discards the product. The Unsaved Changes window asks first: click Keep Editing to go back, or Discard Changes to close.
  • Many products at once? Import a file instead. See How to import products from a file (including Shopify).
  • AI Assistant. You can also ask the AI Assistant to create or change products, for example "Add a rye sourdough loaf for 7 EUR". See What is the AI Assistant?.

How to import products from a file (including Shopify)

To import products into a TeleportHQ store, open the E-Commerce panel, click More actions (…) → Import Products next to Products, drop a CSV or JSON file of up to 10 MB (a Shopify product export works as it is, variants included), check the preview and click Import; files with other column names can be mapped with AI.

What uses AI tokens, and how much?

In TeleportHQ, every AI feature uses AI tokens for the AI work it really does, so costs vary; as a guide, an AI website page is about 3,000 tokens, a web app page about 15,000, a new section at least 1,500 and a 4-second AI video about 9,000, while stock images cost nothing, a run that fails before the AI works costs nothing, and AI 3D models aren't available yet.

How to buy more AI tokens

To buy AI tokens in TeleportHQ, click N tokens remaining next to your workspace name on the dashboard (or Purchase tokens in the editor), pick a token package in the Purchase Tokens window, click Purchase and pay by card on Stripe; purchased tokens never expire and are non-refundable.
