How to fill in SEO titles and descriptions with AI

In TeleportHQ, the Fill with AI button writes a page's meta title and description for you, based on the page's content. Open the page's Page SEO Settings, and click Fill with AI next to Meta Settings. The button shows when the page's Meta Title or Meta Description is empty, and it fills only the empty fields. Each use spends a small amount of AI tokens, and the text reaches your live site after you publish.

Before you start

  • You need AI tokens in your workspace. See What uses AI tokens, and how much?.
  • Fill with AI only shows when the page's Meta Title or Meta Description is empty. It fills the empty fields and keeps what you already wrote. To get a new AI suggestion for a filled-in field, clear the field first.

Fill in one page

  1. In the left sidebar, click the layers icon (tooltip Pages, Components & Tree View).
  2. In the Pages list, right-click the page. You can also click the … button at the end of its row.
  3. Click Page SEO Settings. A panel named after the page opens, for example Pricing Settings.
  4. Next to Meta Settings, click Fill with AI. The button shows a spinner while the AI writes.

  5. Read the new text in Meta Title and Meta Description. A message confirms: "SEO meta title and description generated." The text is saved to the page right away.

  6. Edit the text if you want. TeleportHQ saves each field when you click outside it.
  7. Publish your site. See How to publish your site.

The same fields, and the same button, are also above the canvas: with the page open, click Page settings at the top right of the canvas, then SEO.

Site-wide defaults

Your site's default title and description, used by every TeleportHQ page that has none of its own, are in Project settings → SEO & social → Search engines. There's no Fill with AI button there: type them yourself. See How to set a page's title and description for Google.

When AI builds your site, TeleportHQ writes these defaults for you, as long as your workspace has enough AI tokens.

Check that it worked

Reopen Page SEO Settings. The fields show the AI text. After you publish, the browser tab on your live site shows the new title.

Troubleshooting

"You do not have enough tokens to generate SEO metadata." Your workspace is low on AI tokens. Buy more tokens, or type the title and description yourself. See How to buy more AI tokens.

"Could not generate SEO metadata. Please try again." The AI didn't return a result. Wait a moment and click Fill with AI again.

I don't see Fill with AI on a page Both Meta Title and Meta Description already have text. Clear one of them, click outside the field, and the button appears. The button is also hidden while the page's text is being translated, and on details pages (see below).

Good to know

  • Details pages (one page template that shows many items, like products) don't get Fill with AI. Their Meta Settings link the title and description to each item's fields instead, so every item gets its own.
  • Multilingual sites. On a page, Fill with AI writes the title and description for every language in your project.
  • AI-generated sites get SEO text automatically. When the AI builds your site, TeleportHQ also writes titles and descriptions for the new pages if your token balance allows.
  • Fix many pages at once. A Site Health audit can find every page with a missing title or description and fix them together. See How to fix SEO issues with AI.
  • Social image with AI. The Generate with AI button in Open Graph Settings creates a sharing image. See How to choose the image and text shown when your page is shared.

What uses AI tokens, and how much?

In TeleportHQ, every AI feature uses AI tokens for the AI work it really does, so costs vary; as a guide, an AI website page is about 3,000 tokens, a web app page about 15,000, a new section at least 1,500 and a 4-second AI video about 9,000, while stock images cost nothing, a run that fails before the AI works costs nothing, and AI 3D models aren't available yet.
