How to move or delete several projects at once

On the TeleportHQ dashboard, you can act on many projects together. Click Select above the project cards, tick the projects you want (or tick the box at the top to select them all), then click Move to Folder or Delete. Only workspace owners and admins can select projects.

Before you start

  • You need to be the workspace Owner or an Admin.
  • Move to Folder only appears on paid plans, where folders are available. See How to organize projects in folders.
  • Deleting is permanent. Deleted projects, and their published sites, can't be restored.

Select projects

  1. On your TeleportHQ dashboard, open the workspace, or the folder that holds the projects.
  2. To work on some projects only, type in the search box above the cards, or use Filter.
  3. Above the project cards, click Select. A checkbox appears on every card.

  1. Click each project you want. To select every project shown, tick the checkbox next to the count at the top, which reads "N selected".

While you select, the sort menu, Filter and the grid and list buttons are hidden. The search box stays. Archived projects can't be ticked, and selecting all skips them.

Move the selected projects to a folder

  1. With projects selected, click Move to Folder.
  2. Click the folder you want, or the workspace name to move them out of all folders.
  3. Click Move.

Delete the selected projects

  1. With projects selected, click Delete. A window titled, for example, Delete 12 projects opens: "This will permanently delete 12 projects. This action cannot be undone."
  2. Tick I understand, delete 12 projects.
  3. Click Delete 12 projects.

To leave Select mode without changing anything, click Cancel.

Check that it worked

A message confirms the change, for example "12 projects deleted successfully." or "12 projects moved successfully." Deleted projects disappear from the dashboard. Moved projects now appear inside the folder you chose.

Troubleshooting

There's no Select button You aren't the owner or an admin of this workspace, or there are no projects in the current view. Ask the owner to do it, or open the folder that holds the projects.

"Could not remove project. Please try again." The projects couldn't be deleted. If the workspace's trial or subscription has ended, deleting is blocked until the owner subscribes. Otherwise, try again.

"Could not move project. Please try again." The projects couldn't be moved. Refresh the page and try again.

Good to know

  • Paid Web App slots aren't cancelled by a bulk delete. When you delete several web apps at once, TeleportHQ doesn't offer to cancel their slots, and the slots keep billing until you cancel them in the workspace settings. To cancel a slot while deleting, delete that web app on its own. See How to delete a project.
  • Archived projects can't be deleted from the dashboard. After a trial that ended without a subscription, TeleportHQ deletes them automatically about 30 days after archiving. A workspace whose paid subscription ended keeps them until they're restored. See What does "Archived" mean on my project?.
  • Deleting frees project places in the workspace. See How many projects can I have?.
  • Opening a folder clears your selection and leaves Select mode.
  • On a narrow screen, the tools above the cards wrap onto more lines. Select is still there.

How to delete a project

To delete a TeleportHQ project, open the ⋯ menu on its dashboard card, click Delete, tick the confirmation box and click Delete project; the project, its published site and its database are removed, and you can't restore it afterwards.

How many projects can I have?

A TeleportHQ trial workspace can hold 1 project, while Pro and Premium workspaces have unlimited projects; the limit is per workspace, archived projects count toward it, and an expired workspace can't create any.

What does "Archived" mean on my project, and how do I restore it?

An Archived badge on a TeleportHQ project means it's frozen because the workspace's trial or subscription ended or a web app had no Web App slot; the owner restores it by subscribing again (or giving the web app a slot), then republishes it, and only after a trial that ended without a subscription are archived projects deleted, about 30 days after archiving.
