How to rewrite text with AI
To rewrite a text with AI in TeleportHQ, select the text on the canvas and click Rewrite with AI. Choose Rewrite, Make Shorter, Make Longer or Change tone, or type your own instruction. Click Accept to replace the text, or Re-run to get another version.
Before you start
- Rewriting uses a small amount of AI tokens. See What uses AI tokens, and how much?.
- Your role must be allowed to edit the page (and the component, if the text is inside one).
Steps
- On the TeleportHQ canvas, click the text you want to rewrite, for example your hero subtitle.
- Click Rewrite with AI on the selected text.
- Choose what to do:
- Rewrite: new wording, same meaning.
- Make Shorter or Make Longer.
- Change tone, then Professional, Casual, Formal or Friendly.
- Or type in Ask AI to generate other text..., for example
Mention free delivery in Cluj, and press Enter.
- Read the new text.
- Click Accept to use it. Click Re-run for another version, or Discard to keep your original.
Check that it worked
The new text replaces the old one on the canvas. After you click Re-run at least once, a History row appears at the bottom of the box, with arrows and a counter, for example 2 / 3. Use the arrows to step through the versions before you accept one.
Troubleshooting
Rewrite with AI is greyed out The text comes from data, not typed content. The tooltip says: 'The "Rewrite with AI" feature is unavailable for texts whose content comes from CMS data, array/object props or from global state.' To rewrite it with AI, remove the dynamic data from the text's Text Content settings in the right panel, or change the text where the data is stored.
I don't see Rewrite with AI The project is read-only for you, or the text is inside a component your role can't edit. Ask an admin for edit rights.
"There was a problem while generating your content. Please try again." Click Re-run or try again.
"Text generation limit for your current plan has been reached." Your plan's text generation limit is reached. Click Upgrade Now to see plans. Trial, Pro and Premium have no count limit, so this appears mainly on older plans or when a subscription has ended.
"You need more tokens to continue with this operation. Please purchase more tokens." Buy tokens and try again. See How to buy more AI tokens.
Good to know
- To rewrite, translate or change the tone of all texts on a page at once, use Ask AI on the page. See How to replace all images or texts on a page with AI.
- For changes that are more than wording, like color or size, use the quick AI prompt.
- Rewrite with AI follows only the option or instruction you give it each time. It doesn't read the custom instructions you set for the AI Assistant, so put a rule like British spelling into the request, for example
