How to turn off Bookings

How to turn off Bookings

To turn off Bookings in TeleportHQ, open the Bookings panel, click the gear (Booking Settings), scroll to Disable Bookings at the end, type disable bookings and click Disable Bookings. You can also switch off Bookings enabled in Plugins → Bookings. TeleportHQ removes the booking pages and their workflows, and keeps your items, bookings and settings in your database, so switching Bookings on again brings them back. Publish your site for the change to reach your live site.

Before you start

  • Your project stays a web app. Turning off Bookings doesn't turn the project back into a Presentation Website. To do that, restore the backup Before Web App features Enabled, or ask TeleportHQ support to restore it (backups aren't included in the trial, so on a trial, ask support). See How to back up and restore your project.
  • Customers lose their booking pages. Once you publish, the booking pages are gone from your site, including the page your booking emails link to. Answer or cancel upcoming bookings first if your customers still need them. See How to find and manage bookings in Growth.
  • Want to keep the page design? A backup of the project keeps the pages as they are now. See How to back up and restore your project.

What turning off TeleportHQ Bookings removes and keeps

Removed:

  • the booking pages in the bookings folder, and their workflows;
  • the item card components Bookings made, the Bookings tab of the customer's account page, and the BOOKINGS section of your admin panel;
  • the booking reminders;
  • your payment providers and the invoices made with them, unless your project has a store, or had one. The keys you saved stay in your project's Secrets;
  • the Bookings button in the left sidebar, the Bookings group in Growth, and the Bookings badge on your dashboard card.

Kept:

  • your items, bookings, opening hours and booking settings, in your TeleportHQ database;
  • your own pages that Use my existing pages made into booking pages, emptied of what Bookings put there;
  • sign-up and login, and the admin panel.

TeleportHQ removes the Book online links from your navigation and footer. Other links to the booking pages, for example a booking button on your home page, stay but no longer lead anywhere: remove them or point them at another page. If Remove links when a page is deleted is off (Project settings → Editor → Preferences → Editing), the navigation and footer links stay too, without their link. If you switch Bookings on again later, check that your links lead to the new booking pages.

Check that it worked

The Bookings row in Plugins says Off, the left sidebar has no Bookings button, and the Pages list has no bookings folder. Publish your site so the booking pages leave your live site too. See How to publish a web app.

Troubleshooting

The Disable Bookings button stays greyed out The box must say disable bookings exactly. Capital letters and spaces before or after don't matter.

The window says "This cannot be undone. Are you sure you want to disable it?" The booking pages are removed, and any changes you made to them are lost. Your items, bookings and settings aren't: switching Bookings on again builds fresh booking pages over them.

You want Bookings back Switch it on again. The Activate Bookings window says "Your booking pages were deleted, but your items, bookings, opening hours and booking settings were kept. Activating bookings builds the pages again." Each time you switch Bookings on counts toward the limit of 10 per project. See How to add bookings to an existing project.

What is Bookings in TeleportHQ, and what does it add to your site?

Bookings is the TeleportHQ plugin that lets visitors book rooms, appointments, tables, classes or rentals on your site, with booking pages and a live calendar, online or on-arrival payment, customer emails and accounts, and places to manage every booking in the editor and in your site's admin panel.

How to add bookings to an existing project

To add bookings to an existing TeleportHQ project, open Plugins in the editor's left sidebar, click Bookings and switch on Bookings enabled, then choose what people book, your timezone, your currency and the navigation links in the Activate Bookings window; TeleportHQ builds the booking pages, two sample items, opening hours, emails, sign-in and the admin panel, and the project becomes a web app.

How to turn features on or off (Plugins)

In the TeleportHQ editor, click Plugins in the left sidebar, click a plugin such as Blog, Bookings or Authentication, and flip its "enabled" switch in the drawer that opens; the same drawer starts its tutorial, opens its panel, shows or hides its left-sidebar button and lists what needs attention, and flipping the switch again and confirming turns it off.

How to regenerate store pages or turn off e-commerce

In TeleportHQ, if you deleted your store's e-commerce folder, click Activate E-Commerce in the E-Commerce panel to rebuild the pages over your kept products and settings; to remove the store, turn off E-commerce enabled in Plugins → E-commerce (or use Disable E-Commerce in E-Commerce Setup) and publish, which removes the store pages and clears your payment provider connections and store settings.

How to publish a web app

You publish a TeleportHQ web app like a website, with Publish → Publish to Production; a web app not covered by a Web App slot can publish with a TeleportHQ watermark for 7 days, after which it needs a slot to stay online.

How to back up and restore your project

In the TeleportHQ editor, click Backups in the bottom toolbar, then Backup current project state to save a snapshot, or Restore next to a backup (such as Before Web App features Enabled) to bring the project back to that point; backups need a Pro or Premium plan, trial users ask support to restore, and you must republish afterwards.
