How to regenerate store pages or turn off e-commerce

In TeleportHQ, you can rebuild your store pages if you deleted them, rebuild only the checkout page, or remove the store from a project. To rebuild deleted pages, click Activate E-Commerce in the E-Commerce panel, then Regenerate Pages. To turn off e-commerce, switch off E-commerce enabled in Plugins → E-commerce, confirm, then publish. Turning the store off removes the store pages and workflows and clears your payment provider connections and store settings; your products and orders stay in your database.

Rebuild deleted store pages

Use this when the e-commerce folder with your store pages was deleted. Your products, orders and store settings are kept, and TeleportHQ builds the pages again over them.

  1. In the editor's left sidebar, click Plugins, then the E-commerce row, then Open next to E-commerce panel. The panel says Store Pages Deleted: "Your store pages were deleted, but your products, orders and store settings were kept. Activate e-commerce to build the pages again."
  2. Click Activate E-Commerce. The Regenerate Product Pages window opens. (Switching on E-commerce enabled in the same Plugins drawer opens it too.)
  3. Click Regenerate Pages. The message "E-Commerce pages regenerated successfully." appears.
  4. Publish your site.

TeleportHQ rebuilds every store page that is missing, starting with product details and the products list, then the cart, checkout and order pages. You can also start from the Pages list (left icon column → Pages, Components & Tree View): the dashed e-commerce placeholder says "This folder was deleted, but your products, orders and store settings were kept." Click its Activate button (or Regenerate, when some store pages still exist).

Rebuild only the checkout page

A checkout page built before you turned on Vouchers, Shipping & Tax Regions, Automatic Discounts or Gift Cards keeps charging without them. Those settings warn you when that's the case. To rebuild the checkout page:

  1. In the E-Commerce panel, next to Products, click More actions (…).
  2. Click Recreate Checkout Page. The window Recreate the checkout page says what happens: "Edits made to the current checkout page are lost."
  3. Click Recreate. The message "The checkout page was recreated. Publish to take it live." appears.
  4. Publish your site.

Turn off e-commerce

  1. In the editor's left sidebar, click Plugins.
  2. Click the E-commerce row (its pill says On). A drawer opens beside the list.
  3. Under Feature, switch off E-commerce enabled. The Disable E-commerce window opens: "This removes the store pages, their workflows, favourites and reviews from the project. Products and orders stay in your data source."
  4. Click Disable E-commerce. The message "E-commerce has been disabled." appears.
  5. Publish your site so the store disappears from your live site.

You can also turn it off from the store itself: in the E-Commerce panel, click the gear (E-Commerce Settings), scroll to the bottom of E-Commerce Setup to Disable E-Commerce, type disable e-commerce in the field, and click Disable E-Commerce. The message "E-Commerce has been disabled." appears.

What turning off e-commerce removes, and what it keeps

When you disable e-commerce in TeleportHQ, the store is removed from the project like this:

Removed:

  • All store pages: products list, product details, cart, checkout, order pages, and the favourites and reviews pages.
  • The workflows attached to the store pages (add to cart, cart, checkout and others), the abandoned cart reminder and the subscription renewal schedule.
  • The invoice template.
  • Your Payment Providers connections. The store no longer knows which saved keys belong to which provider.
  • Your store settings (delivery, pickup, stock, notifications, favourites, reviews and others) and your invoice settings.
  • The store's sections in the admin panel, and the Products section of your site search page, if you have them.

Kept:

  • Your products, orders and other store data in the database.
  • The key values saved in Project settings → Secrets, for example your Stripe secret key.
  • The payment webhooks your site receives, at the same Webhook URL.
  • Your own pages that were connected to the store with Connect my existing pages to the store. Only the product list inside them is removed.
  • The product card component.

Troubleshooting

The store still shows on my live site Turning off e-commerce reaches the live site only after you publish again.

"E-Commerce Activation Limit Reached" when turning the store back on Each project can activate e-commerce up to 10 times, and every re-activation counts. Click Contact Support in that window if you need to activate it again.

Good to know

  • The project stays a web app. Turning off e-commerce doesn't turn the project back into a website, and it still needs a Web App slot. To go back to a website, restore the backup Before Web App features Enabled. See Why does my web app need a slot, and what is the 7-day window?.
  • Sign-in stays on. Shopper sign-up and login, which were turned on with the store, aren't removed.
  • Turning the store back on doesn't reconnect your providers by itself. The activation wizard runs again, recreates the store pages and finds your existing products and orders. Its key fields start empty: to reuse your saved keys, click the plug button next to each field (Link to project secret) and pick the saved secret, instead of typing the key again, which creates a duplicate secret. See How to add a store to an existing project.
  • After turning the store back on, set these up again: open each provider in Payment Providers and check its Webhook section. Stripe and PayPal reconnect on your next publish, or with Connect automatically; if Stripe asks for the Signing secret, link the saved one with the plug button. Then set up your store settings and Invoices again, and publish. Company details on invoices are filled in again from your TeleportHQ billing details.

How to add a store to an existing project

To add an online store to an existing TeleportHQ project, open Plugins in the editor's left sidebar, click E-commerce, switch on E-commerce enabled, confirm, and choose a payment provider or No Provider; TeleportHQ creates the product, cart, checkout and order pages, and the project becomes a web app.

How to create an online store with TeleportHQ

You can create an online store in TeleportHQ in two ways, by letting AI build a complete store (or starting from a store template) from the E-commerce card in New Project, or by switching on E-commerce in an existing project from Plugins, and then you connect a payment provider such as Stripe or PayPal, add products and publish.

How to accept payments with Stripe or PayPal

To accept online payments in a TeleportHQ store, open E-commerce → Payment Providers, click +, pick Stripe, PayPal or another provider, paste its API keys and click Save Configuration; when you publish, TeleportHQ connects the Stripe or PayPal webhook for you so paid orders are marked paid.

How to turn features on or off (Plugins)

In the TeleportHQ editor, click Plugins in the left sidebar, click a plugin such as Blog, Bookings or Authentication, and flip its "enabled" switch in the drawer that opens; the same drawer starts its tutorial, opens its panel, shows or hides its left-sidebar button and lists what needs attention, and flipping the switch again and confirming turns it off.

Why does my web app need a slot, and what is the 7-day window?

In TeleportHQ, each web app needs its own Web App slot to keep publishing and running; a web app without one gets 7 days of full access with a watermark, then its site goes offline and it is archived until you add a slot, and it is never deleted.

How to back up and restore your project

In the TeleportHQ editor, click Backups in the bottom toolbar, then Backup current project state to save a snapshot, or Restore next to a backup (such as Before Web App features Enabled) to bring the project back to that point; backups need a Pro or Premium plan, trial users ask support to restore, and you must republish afterwards.
