How to see what you pay and when it renews
In TeleportHQ, the Billing tab in Workspace Settings shows everything you pay for a workspace. Its Subscription section shows your plan, billing period and renewal date. Its Cost Breakdown section lists the plan, extra editor seats and add-ons with their prices and renewal dates, your total per month or year, and any account credit.
Before you start
- You must be the workspace owner. Other members don't see the Billing tab.
- The Subscription and Cost Breakdown sections appear only on a paid plan. On a trial, the Billing tab shows only Billing Settings, where you can enter your invoice details before you subscribe.
Steps
- In the left sidebar of the dashboard, point at your workspace under WORKSPACES and click the ⋯ at the end of its row.
- Click Billing. (You can also click Manage under the workspace name at the top of the dashboard, then Billing in the SETTINGS list.)
Read the Subscription section at the top.
Scroll down to Cost Breakdown to see each charge.
What the Subscription section shows
- Yearly or Monthly: your billing period, next to the title.
- "Your subscription renews on" a date, or "Your subscription will end on" a date if you cancelled.
- Manage plan: opens the Plans tab, to upgrade, switch period or cancel.
- Manage payment: opens Stripe's billing page, to change your card.
- A summary row:
- Plan: for example Pro or Premium;
- Extra editor seats: how many paid seats are in use;
- Custom domains: used out of your total;
- Extra languages and Web Apps: used out of your total, once you have any;
- Discount, if you have one.
What the Cost Breakdown shows
- One line per charge: the plan, Extra editors, Custom domain slots, Extra language slots and Web App slots, each with its price per month or year. Editor seats also show when they renew.
- Total per month or Total per year.
- Discount (N%), "applied to each renewal", if you have a discount.
- Account credit, with "This credit will be automatically applied to your next invoice." Credit comes from things like removing an editor.
- A note about what's included: "Your plan includes the owner seat and 1 custom domain", plus 1 web app on Premium, and 1 custom domain for each Web App slot.
If your editor seats renew on a different cycle from the plan, the breakdown shows one total for each (Every month and Every year) and says: "Two separate charges on their own dates, not one bill." To pay for everything once a year, set the editor seats to renew yearly. See How do editor seats work?.
Other places to check your TeleportHQ plan status
Workspace Settings → General shows a short status line on the plan card, for example:
- "Renews on" a date;
- "Cancelled. Access ends on" a date;
- "The last payment failed; access ends in N days. Update your card under Billing.";
- "N days left in your trial."
Good to know
- Yearly plans get a reminder email before they renew, when the renewal will charge something. Monthly renewals don't.
- Add-ons bought in the middle of a period follow the plan's monthly or yearly cycle.
- Past invoices aren't listed on the Billing tab. See Where do I find my invoices?.
- To change invoice details, use Billing Settings at the bottom of the same tab. See How to add your company name and VAT number to invoices.
- Workspaces on older plans, such as Lifetime, have no Subscription section; their plan shows on the Plans tab.
