How to cancel (or resume) your subscription

In TeleportHQ, you cancel a subscription from Workspace Settings → Plans: click Cancel subscription on your current plan card, then confirm in the Cancel your subscription? window. Nothing stops right away. You keep full access until the end of the period you've paid for. Changed your mind? Click Continue Subscription on the same tab before that date.

Before you start

  • You must be the workspace owner.
  • Know what happens at the end date. When the paid period ends, TeleportHQ takes your published sites offline, removes custom domains, archives all projects and makes private projects public. The archived projects are kept, not deleted: subscribing again brings them back. See What happens when my trial or subscription ends?.
  • There's no free plan to fall back to. Cancelling isn't a downgrade to free.
  • Save what you need. On Pro or Premium you can download your website code before the end date. See How to download your site as code.

Steps to cancel

  1. On the dashboard, next to your plan name at the top, click Manage. Workspace Settings opens.
  2. In the SETTINGS list on the left, click Plans.
  3. On the card tagged Current plan, click Cancel subscription.

  1. In the Cancel your subscription? window, read the end date: "You will still be able to enjoy all premium features until" that date.
  2. Optional: under Help us improve, pick your reasons under Why are you canceling? and add Additional comments (optional).
  3. Click Cancel subscription. To keep your plan, click Go back instead.

Check that it worked

  • Workspace Settings → Billing says "Your subscription will end on" and the date.
  • Workspace Settings → General says "Cancelled. Access ends on" and the date.
  • On the Plans tab, your plan card shows a Continue Subscription button.
  • Until the end date, the dashboard shows a reminder panel with a Continue Subscription button. When the date comes, every project in the workspace is archived.

Steps to resume a cancelled subscription

You can undo a cancellation any time before the end date.

  1. Open Workspace Settings → Plans.
  2. On your plan card, click Continue Subscription.
  3. In the Continue Subscription window, click the button named after your plan, for example Continue Premium Plan.

A message says "Subscription was correctly renewed." Your plan renews on its usual date, and no extra payment is taken now ("Payment will be done at the next billing period originally set.").

After the end date, Continue Subscription is gone. Subscribe again instead. See How to subscribe to Pro or Premium.

Troubleshooting

"Could not cancel subscription. Please try again." The cancellation didn't reach Stripe. Wait a moment and try again. If it keeps failing, write to hello@teleporthq.io.

"Could not renew subscription. Please try again." Resuming failed. Try again. If the end date has already passed, subscribe again instead.

Good to know

  • Cancelling doesn't refund the current period. It stops future renewals, and you keep access until the end date. For refund questions, write to hello@teleporthq.io.
  • Stripe's billing page may also let you cancel. The Manage payment link on the Billing tab opens it. Cancelling there has the same effect.
  • Extra editor seats end with the plan, on the same date.
  • Add-ons billed with the plan end with it: extra custom domains, extra languages and Web App slots. Add-ons on a separate subscription (for example on Lifetime workspaces) must be cancelled in their own tabs.
  • Want Pro instead of Premium? Cancelling is the only way. See Can I downgrade from Premium to Pro?.
  • Deleting the workspace is only possible after the paid period ends. See How to delete a workspace.

What happens when my trial or subscription ends?

When a TeleportHQ trial or paid subscription ends, the workspace is locked, published sites and custom domains are removed, all projects are archived and private projects become public; after a trial, archived projects are deleted about 30 days later, a workspace whose paid subscription ended keeps them, and subscribing again restores them so you can republish.

Can I downgrade from Premium to Pro?

TeleportHQ doesn't offer a direct Premium-to-Pro downgrade; to pay less, cancel the Premium subscription under Plans, let the paid period end, then subscribe the workspace to Pro and republish your sites.

How to see what you pay and when it renews

In TeleportHQ, the workspace owner opens Workspace Settings → Billing to see the plan, billing period and renewal date in Subscription, and every charge (plan, extra editor seats, add-ons), the total per month or year and any account credit in Cost Breakdown.

How to buy, assign or cancel a web app slot

A TeleportHQ Web App slot keeps one web app online and running; buy one in Workspace Settings → Web Apps → Buy a slot (or Keep this project next to a web app that's running out of time), give an unused slot to a project with Assign to…, and stop paying with Cancel slot.

How to delete a workspace

In TeleportHQ, the workspace Owner opens Workspace Settings → General and clicks Delete workspace in the red card at the bottom; this permanently deletes every project in it, and it's only possible once the plan, seats and add-ons have stopped billing and you own another workspace.
