How to find projects shared with you (and leave them)

In TeleportHQ, projects that someone shared with you one by one are on your dashboard under SHARED WITH ME → Shared projects. Whole workspaces you were invited to are listed separately under SHARED WITH ME. To leave a shared project, click the ⋮ on its card, choose Leave Project, and confirm.

Find projects shared with you

  1. Open your TeleportHQ dashboard.
  2. In the left sidebar, under SHARED WITH ME, click Shared projects. The page Shared with me opens.
  3. The projects shared with you appear as cards. Click one to open it.

If you were invited to a whole workspace, click the workspace's name under SHARED WITH ME instead. Its projects are listed inside it, not under Shared projects.

Leave a shared project

  1. In Shared projects, find the project's card.
  2. Click the ⋮ on the card.
  3. Click Leave Project. The Leave project window opens: "You are about to leave project '<name>'. You will have to be invited again to access it."
  4. Click Leave project to confirm, or Cancel to keep your access.

Check that it worked

TeleportHQ shows "You have left the project." and the card disappears from Shared projects. You need a new invitation to get back in.

Troubleshooting

"Nothing shared yet" Nobody has shared a single project with your account. Make sure you're signed in with the email address you were invited with. See I was invited to TeleportHQ: how do I get access?.

I can't find a project I was invited to It might be part of a workspace shared with you. Check the workspaces under SHARED WITH ME. Also reload the dashboard: new shares show up the next time it loads.

"Could not leave project. Please try again." Leaving didn't save. Reload the page and try again. You can leave a shared project even when its workspace's trial or subscription has ended. If it keeps failing, ask the workspace Owner or an Admin to remove you.

There's no Leave Project option Leave Project is only in the Shared projects view. To leave a whole workspace, see How to leave a workspace.

Good to know

  • Leaving your last shared project in a workspace also removes you from that workspace's member list.
  • Want to keep a copy? Leaving removes your access. If you need your own copy, ask the owner before you leave. See Can I transfer a project to another account?.

TeleportHQ invitations have no accept button; if you already have an account with the invited email you have access straight away, and if you don't, sign up with exactly that email and the shared workspace or project appears in your dashboard under SHARED WITH ME.

How to leave a workspace

In TeleportHQ, point at a workspace under SHARED WITH ME in the dashboard sidebar, click ⋯ → Leave Workspace and confirm with Leave workspace; you lose access to all its projects and need a new invitation to get back in.

What is a workspace?

A TeleportHQ workspace is a shared space with one Owner that holds projects, members with roles, and its own plan and billing; you can own several workspaces and be a member of other people's, all listed in the dashboard sidebar under WORKSPACES and SHARED WITH ME.

How to invite someone to one project

In the TeleportHQ editor, click Share at the top right, type the person's email in Add email, pick a role and click Send invite; they get access to that project only, and on Pro and Premium an editing role may add a paid editor seat.

Can I transfer a project to another account?

No, TeleportHQ can't transfer project ownership or move a project to another workspace, but you can give someone their own copy by setting the project to Can clone and sending the link, or give them access by inviting them as a collaborator.
