How to leave a workspace
In TeleportHQ, you leave a workspace you were invited to from your dashboard sidebar: point at it under SHARED WITH ME, click ⋯ → Leave Workspace, then click Leave workspace to confirm. You immediately lose access to every project in that workspace, and you need a new invitation to get back in.
Before you start
- You can only leave workspaces you don't own. A workspace you own can't be left. You can delete it instead. See How to delete a workspace.
- Leaving can't be undone. The workspace's Owner or an Admin has to invite you again.
- You can leave a locked workspace too. Leaving works even while the workspace's trial or subscription has ended.
- Want a copy of a project? Leaving removes your access, not the project. If you need your own copy, ask the Owner before you leave. See Can I transfer a project to another account?.
Steps
- On your dashboard, in the left sidebar, find the workspace under SHARED WITH ME.
- Point at the workspace name and click the ⋯ icon at the right end of its row.
- Click Leave Workspace, at the bottom of the menu. The Leave workspace window opens: "You are about to leave workspace '<name>'. You will have to be invited again to access it."
- Click Leave workspace to confirm.
You can also leave from Workspace Settings → General: scroll to the red Leave workspace card ("You lose access to every project in this workspace. This cannot be undone.") and click Leave workspace.
Check that it worked
The workspace disappears from SHARED WITH ME. If you had it open, TeleportHQ switches you to another workspace. Otherwise you see "You have left the workspace."
Troubleshooting
"Could not leave workspace. Please try again." Leaving didn't save. Reload the page and try again. If it keeps failing, ask the workspace Owner or an Admin to remove you.
I don't see Leave Workspace in the menu You own this workspace. Owners can't leave their own workspace.
Good to know
- Single shared projects are separate. Projects shared with you one by one are listed under Shared projects and are left from there. See How to find projects shared with you (and leave them).
- Seats. If you had an editing role in a workspace that pays for editor seats, leaving frees your seat, and the unused part of its billing period goes to the Owner's account credit.
