How to switch workspaces and choose which one opens first
In TeleportHQ, you switch workspaces by clicking a workspace name in the left sidebar of your dashboard. To choose which workspace opens every time you sign in, go to Account Settings → General and pick it under Primary workspace. The choice is saved on your account, so it works in every browser and on every device.
Switch to another workspace
- Open your TeleportHQ dashboard.
- In the left sidebar, click the workspace you want:
- Workspaces you own are under WORKSPACES.
- Workspaces you were invited to are under SHARED WITH ME.
- The workspace's projects appear in the main area.
To see single projects that other people shared with you, click Shared projects under SHARED WITH ME.
Choose which workspace opens first
- At the top of the dashboard sidebar, point at the row with your name and click the ⋯ icon at its right end.
- Click Account Settings. The General tab opens.
- Find Primary workspace.
- Open the list and choose a workspace, for example
Bakery Client. Workspaces other people own end with " (shared)". - TeleportHQ saves your choice as soon as you pick it. There's no save button.
Check that it worked
Click the TeleportHQ logo at the top of the dashboard sidebar. Your primary workspace opens. It also opens the next time you sign in, on any device.
Troubleshooting
"Could not set the primary workspace" Your choice wasn't saved, and the list goes back to the previous choice. Reload the page and try again.
A different workspace opens than the one I chose If you left the workspace you chose, or it was deleted, TeleportHQ ignores the setting and the list shows Choose automatically again. Choose a new primary workspace.
Good to know
- "Choose automatically" is the default. TeleportHQ then opens the last workspace you worked in on this browser. On a browser or device you haven't used before, it opens your own workspace, preferring one with a paid plan, before any workspace shared with you.
- Each workspace keeps its own projects, members and plan. Switching doesn't move anything between workspaces. See What is a workspace?.
