Are prices shown with VAT, and why are they in USD or EUR?

TeleportHQ charges the price you see. No VAT is added on top at checkout. When your billing country is in the EU, your invoice shows how much of the amount you paid is VAT, at your country's rate. EU businesses that qualify can tick Reverse VAT Charge, and their invoice then shows no VAT. Prices are in US dollars, or in euros if your account already pays for a workspace in euros.

How VAT works on TeleportHQ invoices

  • You pay the listed price. Stripe's checkout page charges the price shown in TeleportHQ and adds no tax.
  • Billing country in the EU: the invoice splits each amount into the price without VAT and the VAT, using your country's VAT rate. For example, on a payment from Germany (19% VAT), part of the amount you paid is shown as VAT. The total stays the same.
  • EU businesses with a VAT number: in Billing Settings, choose Company, add your Company no. / VAT code and tick Reverse VAT Charge if your business is eligible. You pay the same amount, and the invoice shows no VAT, because your business declares it. The checkbox appears for companies in EU countries other than Romania.
  • Billing country outside the EU: the invoice shows no VAT.

Your billing country is the one in Billing Settings. If you never filled it in, it's the country of the card you paid with. To add or change your details, see How to add your company name and VAT number to invoices.

Why TeleportHQ prices are in US dollars or euros

  • US dollars are the default. New accounts see prices in USD, wherever they are.
  • Euros are used when your account already owns a workspace whose subscription is priced in euros. Plans, seats, languages, domains and Web App slots are then shown in euros too.
  • There's no currency switch in the app. For questions about currency, write to hello@teleporthq.io.
  • Your currency stays the same when you upgrade or switch between monthly and yearly.

For current prices in each currency, see the TeleportHQ pricing page.

Troubleshooting

"Not available in your currency" next to an add-on That add-on has no price in your account's currency yet. Leave it at 0 to continue the checkout, and write to hello@teleporthq.io.

"Extra editor seats are not available in your billing currency yet. Please contact support." Editor seats don't have a price in your currency yet. Write to hello@teleporthq.io.

Good to know

  • Stripe's checkout page has no VAT number field. Enter it in Billing Settings in TeleportHQ instead.
  • Romanian companies also need a Trade reg. number, and can't use reverse charge.
  • Invoices also show amounts in Romanian lei (RON), at the exchange rate of the invoice date.
