Why TeleportHQ? Is it right for your project?
TeleportHQ builds your website or web app, runs it and helps you grow it, all from one project. You describe your business, and TeleportHQ's AI builds a working site with real pages and texts. You change anything in a visual editor or by chatting with the AI Assistant, and TeleportHQ hosts the result on its own address or your domain. An online store, bookings, a blog, a help center, user accounts and an admin panel are built in: when you switch one on, its pages, data, emails and admin screens are already wired. The same project then shows you how the site performs and gives you the tools to act on it. Use this guide to decide whether TeleportHQ fits your project.
Build: what you start from
You don't have to design pages from a blank canvas, and you don't have to write code. In TeleportHQ, the AI builds the whole site from a description of your business, and everything it makes stays editable.
- AI builds the whole site. Describe your business and the AI plans and builds your pages, in your choice of theme, colours and fonts. See What is the TeleportHQ AI Website Builder?.
- A visual editor and the AI Assistant work on the same site. Click any element and change it, with saved colours, text styles and components keeping the site consistent, or tell the AI Assistant what to change in plain words. See A tour of the TeleportHQ editor and What can the TeleportHQ AI Assistant do?.
- Start from a template, then let the AI rewrite it for your business. The template gallery is sorted by kind of business, with a search; you can also start from a blank page. On a project you started from a template, the Tailor this project window, which the AI Assistant opens for you, asks for a description of your business, can ask a few quick questions first, and then rewrites every text and replaces every image on all your pages to match it. Your pages keep their layout. If you want a fresh look too, it generates colours or fonts from your description and you pick the set you want. See How to start a project from a template and What can the TeleportHQ AI Assistant do?.
- Already have a site? Move it over. On the first step of the AI Website Builder, Generate from URL reads your current site's sitemap, copies the visible text of up to 12 pages, writes the business description from it and rebuilds those pages with the same wording in a new design (images aren't copied). You can also paste a page's HTML and CSS, import a whole site as a ZIP file, open a Figma design with the TeleportHQ plugin, and import products and blog posts from a CSV or JSON file. See How to describe your business from a website link or a document, How to import HTML and CSS code, How to import a website from a ZIP file, How to turn a Figma design into a website, How to import products from a file and How to import or export blog posts.
- A website's code is yours to download. On a paid plan, you can download a website's code as HTML, React, Next.js, Vue, Nuxt or Angular, or export it to GitHub. This is for websites only: a project that switches on user accounts, an online store, bookings, a blog or a help center becomes a web app, and a web app's code can't be downloaded. See Can I download my site's code?.
Run: what already works when you switch it on
You don't have to assemble integrations, set up a server, or connect payments, emails and a database to each other. When you switch a feature on in TeleportHQ, its pages, its data, its emails and its admin screens are set up and wired. What you add is your own details: your Stripe or PayPal keys, the email service you send from and your domain.
- Hosting. Click Publish and your site is live on an
https://…teleporthq.appaddress, with a private staging address for testing changes first, password protection for the whole site, and your own domain. See How to publish your site. - Storage included. The project's files (pictures, videos, documents), the built-in database with up to 200,000 records per table on a paid plan, the data each web app keeps, and monthly bandwidth all come with the plan: there is no file bucket, database service or hosting account to buy or connect. See What's the difference between Trial, Pro and Premium? for the limits.
- A built-in database and workflows. TeleportHQ creates a hosted database for the project, and a workflow (one trigger, such as a form submission, then steps such as saving to the database or sending an email) runs on it without code. See How to set up the built-in TeleportHQ database and What are workflows?.
- Sign-up and login. TeleportHQ creates the sign-in, sign-up, password and profile pages and keeps the accounts in a database, and any page can be made visible to signed-in visitors only. See How to add sign-up and login to your site and How to make a page visible only to signed-in users.
- An online store. Products, cart, checkout, orders, customer accounts, invoices and abandoned-cart reminders. Payments start when you paste a provider's API keys; TeleportHQ connects the Stripe or PayPal webhook for you. See How to create an online store with TeleportHQ, How to accept payments with Stripe or PayPal, How to open and download order invoices and How to send abandoned cart reminders.
- Bookings. Booking pages, a live calendar with availability, confirmation and reminder emails, and calendar sync with Airbnb, Booking.com, Vrbo or Google Calendar. See What is Bookings in TeleportHQ, and what does it add to your site?, Which emails does Bookings send, and how do I set them up? and How to sync an item's calendar with Airbnb, Booking.com, Vrbo or Google Calendar (iCal).
- A blog and a help center. A blog listing with a page for every post, and a searchable help center with a page for every article. See How to add a blog to your site and How to add a help center to your site.
- An admin panel on your own site. TeleportHQ builds a back office at
/admin/dashboardon your published site, for your users, orders, products, bookings, invoices, blog posts and your own database tables. See What is the admin panel?. - Languages. Add a language and TeleportHQ translates the site with AI. See How to make your site available in several languages.
- Forms. Every submission is saved in Growth → Forms, and TeleportHQ emails the workspace owner about each one. See How to create a form.
Grow: see how the site is doing, then act on it
You don't have to install an analytics script, buy an SEO tool or connect a newsletter service to find out how your site is doing and do something about it. Most builders stop at publishing. In TeleportHQ, the project that built and runs your site also measures it, under Growth in the editor's left sidebar, and the tools to act on what you see are in the same place.
- Visitor analytics, built in, with nothing to install: visitors, page views, traffic sources, countries, devices, most-viewed pages and clicks. See How to see who visits your site (Analytics).
- A site health audit with Performance, SEO, Accessibility and Best practices scores for your live site and a plain-language list of issues that AI can fix, plus a check of your site's colour contrast. See How to check your site's SEO health and How to fix SEO issues with AI.
- Keyword ideas and page-by-page SEO recommendations, and a benchmark of your site's speed scores against competitors. See How to find keyword ideas with AI and How to compare your site with competitors.
- SEO basics handled. Every page gets a title, description, social image and canonical address, TeleportHQ writes the sitemap and robots.txt when you publish, and redirects are a page setting. See How SEO works in TeleportHQ.
- Form submissions in one place, searchable and exportable as a CSV file. See How to see and export form submissions.
- The Marketing Studio. Contact lists from the people who sign up to your site, email newsletters, email or SMS campaigns that AI plans and writes, and social posts and graphics made with AI. See What is the Marketing Studio?, How to create an email or SMS campaign, How to send an email newsletter and How to create social media posts with AI.
- Sales and booking reports. Your store's sales figures and every order under Growth → E-Commerce, PDF sales reports and order exports, and booking reports with revenue, occupancy and busiest days. See How to find and manage orders, How to download sales reports and order exports and How to download booking reports and exports.
- AI across all of it. The AI Assistant changes pages, manages the database, the store, bookings and blog settings, sets up SEO and builds workflows, and the Marketing Studio has its own Marketing Assistant for campaigns and posts. See What can the TeleportHQ AI Assistant do? and How to use the Marketing Assistant.
Who TeleportHQ suits
- A business owner who wants a finished, hosted site without code. The AI builds it, you change the texts and pictures, and TeleportHQ hosts it, takes the orders and bookings, emails you the form submissions and shows you in Growth how the site is doing. Start with How to create your first website in TeleportHQ.
- A designer who wants to go further than a builder. You get saved colours and text styles, CSS classes, components, responsive controls and a tab for writing CSS by hand, plus a Figma plugin for your own designs. See How to turn a Figma design into a website.
- A developer who wants the code of a website at the end. On a paid plan, a website's code downloads as HTML, React, Next.js, Vue, Nuxt or Angular, or goes straight to GitHub, and you can add your own code inside the editor. This holds for websites only: once a project switches on user accounts, an online store, bookings, a blog or a help center it is a web app, and its code can't be downloaded. See How to download your site as code (React, Next.js, Vue, HTML and more) and How to add your own HTML or JavaScript with Code Embed.
- A teacher running a web-development course. The Academic plan is made for schools and educational programs: 25 editor seats, so you can invite a whole class, 1,250,000 AI tokens every 30 days and unlimited projects. Roles decide who edits and who only views. Students can ask the AI Assistant "how do I" questions, answered from this help center, and on a paid plan a website's code can be downloaded to read and continue by hand. When a student finishes, the workspace Owner or an Admin graduates them, and their project moves to a free, permanent workspace that the student owns. See What is the Academic plan?, What can each role do?, How to ask the AI Assistant how to do something, How to download your site as code and How to graduate a student from an Academic workspace.
- An agency serving several clients. You design and publish; each client runs their site from its own admin panel and never needs the editor. See TeleportHQ for agencies: deliver sites your clients can run themselves.
Who TeleportHQ doesn't suit
- A native mobile app. TeleportHQ builds websites and web apps that run in a browser. You can make a site installable on a phone's home screen, but not an app for the App Store or Google Play. See How to make your site installable as an app (PWA).
- A fully custom backend. Workflows, the built-in database and connections to your own databases and APIs cover sign-in, orders, bookings and automations, and a workflow step can run your own JavaScript. A backend written as its own program, in the language and framework of your choice, runs elsewhere, and you connect it to your site as a REST API. See What are workflows? and How to connect a REST API.
- A site that must live on your own servers from day one. TeleportHQ hosts every published site. On a paid plan you can download a website's code and host it anywhere. A web app, which is any project with user accounts, an online store, bookings, a blog or a help center, runs only on TeleportHQ hosting: its code can't be downloaded, and the editor warns you before a website becomes one. See What's the difference between a website and a web app?.
How TeleportHQ compares, by kind of tool
| Kind of tool | What they do well | What's different in TeleportHQ |
|---|---|---|
| Visual site builders (Webflow, Wix) | You design pages by hand in a visual editor, start from templates, and the builder hosts the site. | The AI builds the whole site from your business description first, and you edit the result visually or by chatting. The project then runs the live features: a store, bookings, sign-in, an admin panel and a help center are switched on, wired and hosted in the same project, which also measures the site and grows it with analytics, audits, campaigns and reports. On a paid plan a website's code is yours to download; a web app's is not. |
| AI app builders (Lovable) | You describe an app in a chat and the AI writes its code; you refine it by chatting, then deploy the result. | The AI builds a site you edit in a visual editor as well as by chat. A database, a store, bookings, accounts and an admin panel are ready-made features that already run on TeleportHQ hosting, not code to write and deploy, and the same project gives you analytics, audits and marketing tools. On a paid plan a website's code can be downloaded; a web app runs on TeleportHQ hosting and its code can't. |
| Coding assistants (Claude Code, ChatGPT) | They write and explain code in any stack, for you to assemble, host and maintain. | There is no code to host or maintain: the site, its live features and its hosting run from one project, which also measures the site and gives you the tools to grow it. If an assistant already wrote plain HTML and CSS for you, paste it into the editor and carry on visually. On a paid plan a website's code is still yours to download; switching on sign-in, a store or bookings makes it a web app, whose code is not. |
Each comparison has its own guide: TeleportHQ compared with Webflow, TeleportHQ compared with Wix, TeleportHQ compared with Lovable and TeleportHQ compared with ChatGPT and Claude Code. For agencies: TeleportHQ for agencies: deliver sites your clients can run themselves.
